and again living in one... sad but true...
evil twins (Lech - president en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lech_Kaczy%C5%84ski and Jarosław - prime minister en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaros%C5%82aw_Kaczy%C5%84ski Kaczyńscy) won't allow OSCE to observe coming elections (October 21)...
i'm really ashamed that all what we were fighting for is demolished by fascist (Giertych father en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maciej_Giertych and son en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Giertych ), catholic hypocrites (evil twins + father Rydzyk en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father_Rydzyk ) and idiots who only want money and change the flag as soon as opportunity appears...
and it started so beuatiful...en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_Round_Table_Agreement
i really truly deeply hate my country!!!!

but polish people are antisocial. they don't care about common good, they care only about their own ass... that's why poland is so ugly and dirty maybe?

Years ago I discovered flickr in a political context. And I'm happy that Ipernity isn't only about bees, flowers and sunsets.

one of the wisest politicians in polish history, Józef Piłsudski en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%B3zef_Pi%C5%82sudski said:
"if we are not able to rule ourselves, we should make occupation eternal" and it's true, polish people are antisocial... it's NATION... and nation works good only when it's endangered...
polish politicians to rule that nation need to threatened it, make people scared, find imaginative enemy: homosexuals, foreigners, non-catholics...
"who is not with us - is against us" they just don't know other option... and that's really sad.
Garm replies:
To leave my country is an option and I think about it - daily. But a better place is hard to find and no one knows how long it goes right there. 10 years ago I wanted to go in the US, but now I'm glad that I'm still here in Europe.

ok understood, but i think Noizze Replikk is wrong
courage and force is in everyone of us, sometimes it just need the "decisive moment" to get out and transform a man (or woman)
not to hero, but just to Man or Woman !
i don't think it's lack of courage, you're talking about totalitarism,
maybe your governement act as a sleep mental potion and everyone is just sleeping !

and i found that strange. i found another very good sentence of Józef Piłsudski:
"La force sans liberté et la justice n'est, que violence et tyrannie. La justice et la liberté sans la force ne sont, que verbiage et et enfantillage." (and yep! i found it in french ;))

i'm not sure if polish people want someone who is thinking like me. they love to complain but they feel safe in good known old swamp of allowed and forbidden, they like to be controlled and told what to do. (btw. most of polish people vote the way they are told to vote in churches... and after last statement of evil twin - don't remember which one - we will have soon bible instead of constitution... )

My dad and my sister are living in France. I'm ashamed that I don't speak Français but I know something about the difference between France and Germany and about the "common sense".
An example: in France they celebrate the revolution, everyone is proud about the Grande Nation (Vive la France!). In Germany it can be a big mistake to say: "I like Germany". Everyone would say: "Look, this guy is a damned fascist!". That's because we've got this horrible history. Our people are still ashamed and many politics are using this fact for their crime. We've got censorship in any media (TV, computergames, movies, even music). Our democracy is just a joke and our whole system - even the justice - is absolutely corrupt. Anybody knows this, but no one has the "balls" to solve these problems.
Bigoode [Frozen account] pro replies:

besides thinking about going 'somewhere else' too, something out of the ordinary happened a few days ago. there's one person (who has always been a "comedian", btw) who began speaking in his shows of all those news which aren't told by any 'regular' media. so he became a new kind of media himself. by time this whole thing grew bigger, and now he brought up a popular initiative to ask for some things to be changed (such as certain laws, politics commitment, energy management, economy, technologies...) straight to the people and oh dear, they answered! can you believe they put together more than 300000 signatures in a day i think? i'll have to check better about that, but in a way i'm excited that something could really change, starting from the bottom.
Obviously people “from above” say it’s kind of instigating to violence and rage but… it’s been one of the quietest demonstrations ever! Nothing bad happened. We have 100 times disorders and harms every week for football matches! But this seems to be tolerated.
Bigoode [Frozen account] pro replies:

eyes wide shutter replies:
i can tell you, from the german people i've met so far (not many, ok, but good ones i think) i always heard them say, that is their past, and didn't want to be bound by that for generations to come... they looked like yes, knowing that 'horrible history' behind, but also struggling to say "i can't be considered responsible for that"... ok, i'm making eeeasier than it is and i'm sorry if i said something inappropriate...
after all it's not my country, i can’t have a proper opinion from outside (and we have our problems here as well.)
mad.melon pro replies:
and whatever we do that will always come out :/
but it's fucking past!!! how can we built anything scratching old wounds? it's impossible....
and because recent polish politics is based on hate and guilt i don't see any rescue from all that crap.
yes, we should remember that the edge between being human and being monster is invisible and evil is in everyone. but it's also good.
my grandpa was in stalag and then was forced to work in germany, and you know what? he never talked about germans bad. he wasn't educated, he was ordinary farmer. but he knew that war is war and there's no point in accusing. i don't understand war. i can't imagine things worth killing. maybe because i have nothing as precious... but mostly war is the result of greed and power lust.
our history is full of sadness and despair.

My recent impression was that Polish people are very much aware of what they have gained by their own effort. I suspect there might be quite a number who all agree on this?
Really just trying to say something cheerful. I know this can be a difficult situation. Real democracy is probably always difficult to maintain. Even, and perhaps especially, in the 21st century?

and well... in poland people are told in church how to vote... thare was an article "hide your granny ID card". old people are manipulated by radio maryja and tv trwam.... :/
i'm afraid that in poland situation will be worse and worse. we, as a country, wasted our chance for freedom. and i really don't know if there's hope... we don't have society, we have nation only. and nation is very easy to manipulate by fear...
thank you Michael!! :))
