Twitter on steroids

Pownce is a social networking and micro blogging site started by Internet.

Pownce is centered around sharing messages, files, events, and links with already-established friends. Since the launch on June 27, 2007, new members can only join through an invite from a friend or by e-mail request.

Pownce has been compared favorably to other websites with similar functionality like twitter, and has been called a "Twitter on steroids". It has also been recommended for use over Twitter in a work setting because of its enhanced discussion-tracking capabilities.
