the only way for ipernity to compete with flickr are a few innovative features (missing from flickr), and the fact they they don't censor harmless nudity (which is censored by flickr with their filters etc).
but will that be enough for ipernity to attract masses?
ipernity is good, but honnestly, it is still very far from competing with flickr on the technical point of view (i.e. features, ease of use, powerful tools, external API and so many third-party tools etc).
