My Neanderthal
-
Tonight, on our PBS TV channel a new program about the Neanderthal and our current humans and their interbreeding was shown. Genetic evidence showed that.there was no drastic event or genecide, but rather interbreeding was how the Neanderthal disappeared. Tonight is January 9, 2013. I have never had negative connotations of Neaderthals. I have the memory of David, with a Southern German last name, blond, short, muscular and very impactful to me. When we saw one another there was a clear…
My Travels to Japan
-
January 6, 2013
I have three YouTube sites that I love that feature Japan. In fourth grade I had a Japanese teacher that married a Naval Officer. She was perfection and we all, girls and boys, were in love with her. She was the embodiment of every grace and beauty, and she shared beautiful things with us. The glass tray with the butterflies. The rice cookies wrapped in seaweed. Everyone discretely put them in my inkwell as we came and went, and I ate every one. I had her again in sixth grade. Again…
I am raising myself
-
December 28, 2012
Yep, I am raising myself as I unpack, reflect, and whatever anyone else would call it. Yesterday was a scream. I can't see well without a lot of ambient light, and I had misread the sign-up sheet for bringing food to the Christmas Party at my facility. Whelp!. I have dreamed of one day making a Russian Cheese Bread from a recipe book I have had for years. So when I chanced upon a box of cheese bread balls for less than $2, I grabbed it, and upon reading (misreading) the sign-up list, I…

Let's get the "Show Don't Tell" done first. This link is to a fantastic tour of the art supply stores of London by an absolutely charming person, whose blog name I love:"My Life as a Verb." Here is the fantastic tour. I'll put it up, and add an intro later. I have got to get ready to babysit a four year old tomorrow. This is a child who is Cossack warrior princess, who is a monkey see monkey do, always on point, baby seal, expeditionary force, if there ever was one. Aunty knows what s…

I'll Be Saving my Butts for You, Birds, with a burning Love and Pride

A tune, a merry little tune, that I got wrong, have corrected and am moving on with my Wild Goose Chase, and research, in general. See correct song attribution at the end. (If I remember) Until then, its all to the Birds...

That Skeleton Rag

October 31, 2012
I have this piece of music, and was going to upload it 'back in the day', but instead, best thing is go to this video and hear it played and see the lyric. Terrific for Holloween. IMHO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13ZaxyRzbZ0 And, here is great video to watch, cartoon, of it from Walt Disney: The Skeleton Dance" by Walt Disney https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9tlByl7N6I
Hold That Tiger - Betty Boop - Betty Boop and Grampy

October 30, 2012
Here is YouTube Link to cartoon of the song I sang and used to teach my toddling sister how to walk with. Of course, trust is everything. She trusted that our German Shepherd would be there for her, and could take whatever she gave. I was almost four. I ran along side singing and doing the trombone. But only now do I see an actual cartoon of it, and it is fantastic. We had no TV until Kennedy was assassinated. We watched Superman and The Mickey Mouse club at our neighbors, and had to…

I wish this was really healing. I have been down with whatever. But, this has got me beat. I must get out my toy drums and play. Click here for fantastic video of Mitzi Gaynor, dancing and singing "I don't care" with choreography by Jack Cole: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sy0ShN89lc4&feature=related And, who knew, the piece de la resistance (spelling and etc.?) as good as it gets: Mitzi teaches the history of dance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=kvMsH9vbM…

I can't fix punctuation, or I would half-try. I just want to save this link to a letter by Hemingway to F. Scott Fitzgerald. One thing I neglected to mention below, I have a picture of Hemingway with one of these speed bags, too, one on his porch floor. A light house is behind the palms. Oh, here is link to Hemingway letter: http://www.lettersofnote.com/2012/04/forget-your-personal-tragedy.html

Dear Lea d'Ipernity

April 9, 2012
On this day 3 in the month of Fools, I confess to my weaknesses, and the error of my ways on Ipernity. (The following parenthetical phrase has been redacted and is no longer following, if favor of a separate blog.) So look at this instead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OeSsPrFANw&feature=digest_tue
Go Olive Green for New Song and Dance. Addendum 1
-
April 9, 2012
Witchy woman added kelp powder to her concoction and toodled "Go Olive." Looking for Old Friend and traveling his path, found wonderful video of Russian Women in Uniform dancing. The music starts at 1:10, but watch tribute for first minute. Cold warrior daughter has nothing to use for tribute, except memories of singing and dancing Father. Laugh or Cry, your choice. But, smile is just right. Click. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXsKeSzDhuU&feature=fvwp&NR=1 When I watched video, (th…
