C'est peut-être en découvrant un gros livre relié en cuir que j'ai commencé à collectionner des images photographiques...

C'est peut-être en demandant à ma grand mère qui étaient ces gens depuis longtemps disparue que la photographie a pris pour moi toute sa dimension temporelle.

C'est peut-être en lisant les inscriptions au dos de ces clichés datant de la fin du dix-neuvième siècle que je me suis interessé à l'histoire de la photographie...

Depuis, je fais l'acquisition de tirages selon mes goûts et mes moyens prolongeant ainsi cet élan de curiosité initié dès l'enfance par cet album familial.

E.M. Frechon, pour ces paysages de l'Algérie du XIXéme siècle, Kudasz Gabor Arion pour sa vision de l'architecture, Philipp Plisson pour la mer.... jusquà Nobuyoshi Araki qui a fait de sa vie même une oeuvre photographique !

Memory of collector

Maybe while discovering a big leather connected book which I began to collect photographic images.
Maybe while asking in my Grandmother who were these people for a long time disappeared that the photography took for me all its temporal dimension.
Maybe while reading the inscriptions to the back of these pictures dating the end of Nineteenth century I am interessé in the history of the photography...
Since, I purchase editions according to my tastes and my means so prolonging this run-up of curiosity introduced from the childhood by this family album.
E.M. Frechon, for these landscapes of Algeria of the Nineteenthcentury, Kudasz Gabor Arion for his vision of the architecture or Nobuyoshi Araki who in fact of its life a photographic work!

C’est en retrouvant un tirage que j’ai voulu faire un peu d’histoire, celle d’un photographe amateur parmi tant d’autres…

L’image date de 1975 ou 1976, à l’époque de l’argentique et de mes vrais débuts dans une pratique qui allait au-delà de simples photos de famille et autres usages courants de cet outil.

Un Canon AE1 et des images comme celle-ci prise en Tunisie puis se sera le A1...

Ce parcours étant prétexte à parler photographie, il y a une image de ces années là qui compte particulièrement. Fréquentant depuis 1975 le festival annuel de la BD à Angoulème, j'ai en effet rencontré Reiser avec qui je me suis entretenu le temps de faire un dessin et... de prendre une photo qu'il m'a aimablement autorisé à faire.

C'est aussi l'époque des concerts de jazz comme ici Art Blakey photographié en concert.

C'était alors l'époque de la fac et des beaux arts avec des lectures bien particulières dont le goût ne m'a jamais quitté.

While finding an edition I wanted to make a little of story, that of an amateurish photographer among so many others
The image dates 1975 or 1976, at the time of the argentic and my true debuts in a practice which went beyond simple family photos and the other current usages of this tool.

A Canon AE1 and images as this one taken in Tunisia then will be A1 camera...
In 18 years, I change for a case which I still possess, F1!!!
In this period I develop and I realize my editions on an enlarger DURST on some paper Agfa Record-Rapid. These editions did not deteriorate in the time which passes and which photograph allows us to find what is indeed the subject of this 1st article.

This course being pretext to speak about photography, there is an image of these years there which counts particularly. Frequenting since 1975 the annual festival of the BD to Angoulème, I met Reiser to whom I spoke the time to make a drawing and to take a photo that he kindly authorized me to make.
It is also the time(period) of the jazz concerts as here Art Blakey photographed in concert.
It was then the period of the university and the fine arts with very particular readings the taste of which has never left me .
It was 25 years ago...
