Once, while traveling in Holland and after several hours of photographing, my camera displayed a Memory Card Error message:. I was able to see 20 photos instead of the 300 I had taken. I was totally upset.

When I get back to the hotel, I used one of the computers in the lobby and connected the SD Card. This time I received a Reading Error message!!!

What was the point of taking pictures on my vacation, if I am left with none to look at and show to friends and family?. I thought, I had lost my Alkmaar Cheese Event photos, my Amsterdam photos and all the other photos I had taken as well. I just about had a heart attack. I started to calculate that I still had a couple of days in Amsterdam, but when will I ever again get to be in Alkmaar on "Cheese Day", which is Friday. In the next life?

I copied all 20 photos until I received a copying error message..
Their was a command prompt: chkdsk Z: /f it has fixed errors.

It turns out that although, I had lost 3 or 4 photos, which went into the unreadable FILES.001 folder, I got all the others back - nearly 300. I copied all of them to another card, got beer in the nearest pub and continued to have a lovely holiday in the Netherlands :)
