Frankie ‘Sugar Chile’ Robinson performs in the 1946 movie “No Leave No Love” starring Van Johnson and Keenan Wynn. This clip is often reputed to be Little Richard, another great Rock and Roll Legend, but it’s really Frankie ‘Sugar Chile’ Robinson. Frank was born in 1938 and made a name for himself as a child prodigy Blues and Boogie-Woogie pianist. He played for President Harry S. Truman at the White House in 1946 and released his first record in 1949 from Capitol Records. He dropped out of the music scene in 1952 to pursue his education.
