Since not too long ago I am the owner of a Canon 5D (the original). Second-hand, but it's basically like new. Actually it feels very very familiar to me, since I am used to the Canon 30D already.
However, a new toy is always fun ;-) and the bright viewfinder and low noise are a real improvement.
My Canon EF 28/2,8 likes it too (as do the manual lenses). The old Canon EF 24-85 and 70-210 are not such great combinations, due to heavy vignetting and corner softness. Fortunately the Canon 30D is great for using tele lenses, so I got that covered as well.
Canon 5D / EF 28/2,8 (very nice combo)
Anyway, expect some more wide angle shots in the future ;-)

Johan has replied to AgnusNo, I have never owned any EF-S lenses, so I don't have a compatibility problem there.
My current AF lenses are:
Tokina 19-35 (not bad, but a bit soft until f/8)
Canon EF 28/2,8 (fun on both a FF and crop camera)
Canon EF 50/1,8 (hardly used, because my MF 50mm's are so much better)
Canon 70-210 (very good on a crop camera, but heavy vignetting on FF)
Johan has replied to bildundmehr.de - Mar…But yes, for low light and colour rendition, full frame rules.
Johan has replied to e-personYes, I know that the limited DoF of a true 35mm camera can be a problem in macro photography. About lenses; I am surprised how well some of the old MF-lenses work, even wide open.
