When Josie Soho Came to Be-

Josie Soho came to be while guarding a parking spot in Tribeca. Getting bumped by a car and cursed by New Yorkers. Resolutely she didn't move. Her mantra became, Not Josie- try it on some other ho.

After a transformative experience in New York, getting bumped by a car, meeting Nichiren buddists. Everything changed.

Josie returned to Noho absolute in the knowledge that she was her own greatest resource. She had herself and that was her greatest commodity. She'd reached a place of affirmation. This ocurred in 2004.

Josie Soho and Henri Banks met on the internet in March of 2005. They found they were living lives with

From what  I  understand Edith Piaf didn't like Americans till she realized they liked her. Isn't that how it seems to go? What if all the global citizens of the world could stand together and count the positives and not the negatives? Our similarities. If we could let our differences go and meet on common ground. That's what the internet is to me. A place to level the playing field. Meeting people on a one to one basis. Getting real about how we're alike, not how we're different.

It's a love affair that never was intended to happen . It just grew and grew from the most informal of social contact. Organically- the way I've heard love is supposed to grow.

Ultimate Bond

I should be downtown trying to sell my prints and cards but I don't feel like it. It's going to be super hot and humid today.

Last week I got this beautiful shot of a tender moment between a mom and her babe.  Forgive me but I'm still amazed I saw it, let alone caught it.  Being on the street provides myriad opportunities to shoot.

My community is very artistic, so it's a great opportunity to meet fellow artists and share perspectives as well.

If I get my act in gear I will go the Cummington Fair this afternoon or evening . One of the country's oldest agricultural fairs. It was a hub of my universe when I was a teen. We'll see how compelling it is later on.

Did you ever get kicked in the shins on Saturday night by the appetizer chef? I laugh about it now. I only asked if the dumplings were ready. "Don't aska -talk too much, you knowwwwww?!", Charlie Danger.

That was decades ago when I worked in an Asian restaurant. The swinging doors separated two cultures.

Late Afternoon

Charlie was a sing ching bing Chinese guy ( he taught me that expression)
Who I worked with
When I waitressed in a Szechuan restaurant
For 5 years.

He was our appetizer chef.
He had a range.

Charlie heated up the cast iron
Plates for the sizzling rice dishes.

He wore army boots and
Spit into a bucket next to his stove

"Danger!
Hot plate!"

"Look out
It bourn you
You know?"

Charlie also fried the dumplings.
20 minutes they took.

If you forgot to order them 
You were in trouble.

Saturday night

"Charlie, are my dumplings ready?"

"Don't aska."

"Um, but my customer wants to know."

"DON"T ASKA! I KILL YOU!"

"Um,"

WHAM!

I don't need Oprah  to tell me that I should be proud of being 49 going on 50. My rational mind has that running in a constant loop. While my emotional brain says WTF?!!!

Yesterday I decided to put my age back on the page. Being here is what counts.

Today I'm marching to this tribal remix of Glamorous. Not diggin the images so much but the sound's cool. Out to walk two miles as fast as I can to this beat. Pickin up the pace...

I was a bartender in one of my lives so I can talk endlessly without provocation.

Liquid Lunch

no saturated fats, low sugar, low salt, no drinking, mediterranean  diet, vegetarianism,
not enough love making, child going abroad, health issues, anything else?

we're all dying by degrees...how to slow down the process.

Oh yeah -the Med diet offers one glass of wine a day. I'm opting for that and reverting back to my childhood.
