People Tell Me Stuff

I Don't Ask

Wearing criss cross lashes sprinkled with fairy dust to work makes the most unusual things happen. First I sold a pink faced man in a pink Polo shirt a bottle of Ikon cologne. I had made a bet with myself that I'd sell one that evening tho I hadn't yet sold any. I'd also bet myself that I'd date the man I sold it too. That idea went out the window when he sprayed it on himself and told me he'd have to see how his wife liked it.
Well, actually he was little too pink for me and it was quite obvious he was flirting. Too obvious in fact.

They bought a pink organic bunny for their newly born grandchild as well as the cologne and went merrily on their way. The wife was delighted with her husband's new aroma. I wondered if they'd think about me later. (We'd had a long conversation about epidurals and the fact that someone had stolen their credit card and taken a trip to Germany with it. Buying $300 worth of jewelry while there.)

Next a grandmotherly woman who looked as if she ought to say bibbity bobbity boo came in. She shouted out- "Hello sweetheart!" to me. I took a deep breath and decided it was my mother incarnate come to visit.
She took some steps closer and said, "You're quite pretty you know!"
I responded my thanks and hoped for a subject change. It was a kind gesture. I'd spent an hour on my makeup.

She went on to tell me she had a very nice priest. ( His diocese was at the church in my neighborhood my aunt attended when she was here during my mother's illness.) I told her I wasn't Catholic but that I'd like a nice priest to confide in from time to time. She then told me she was a good Catholic so she attended Mass every day but she also needed someone else to talk to because her husband was no good for conversation. Then she told me she'd met a nice minister at her church in her hometown who was great and the congregation was lovely...

A man who looked like my old rock and roll boyfriend came in too- looking like a comic sketch of himself. Life is very unusual.

At the end of the month we're having a sale with a pj promotion. We'll each get a pair of pjs if we'll wear them to work during the sale days. I'm hoping to obtain the acid green, sleeveless pjs with the flame colored roses for my attire. They'll go great with my dragonfly sandals. I'm not sure I'll wear the lashes. I do wonder what stories I'll hear then.

You might win bets with yourself but that doesn't mean the man will resemble the one on the poster.

you could ask but I can't necessarily answer.

i wore a pink and white zebra stripe sweater to work yesterday and a 23 year old guy winked a long ,slow, calculated one at me as he strolled by all full of swagger. i gave him a quick, flirty wink back. that's all there was to it. it was fun! ;-P
