Ohhhhh Obama.....

Wednesday November 5, 2008 at 06:03AM

It's done...it's over....and I have a major headache....

Obama has been elected the next president of the United States....and to think we lost the House and Senate as well...ohhhhh...I think its turning into a migraine.

It may take some time for me to recover from my disappointment in the majority of the american people that voted for him, but what's done is done. I'm a big believer in things happening for a reason, so I really do hope and pray he will do the best he can to serve our country over the next 4 yrs.

In a case like this, I would love to be proved wrong, but only time will tell.

Yes senator, "Change has come to America".

For Guido: Do you think to have an history as prisoner of war is a good precondition for president? The war against Vietnam was one of the biggest crimes of the imperialistic US government, so nothing to be proud of, don't you think? Do you think to kill several millions of innocent people is something to be proud of???

History shows that every president, whether right or left, moves to the center during their presidency. So my hope is that Obama will truly be a uniter and back off some of his wild "redistribute the wealth" discussions. But the "card check" union issue will be devastating to businesses large and small, which is one of the first things he pledged to do.

But overall, I have some "hope" that Obama will be more of a centerist.

I'm sad that you are unhappy, but Barack Obama personifies the will of the majority of the people of this country, I'd have preferred Dennis Kucinich, as I think Obama is too centerist, but that wasn't to be. I do think Obama will be a good change after the disaster that was the Bush years. Bush pushed us right to the brink of financial collapse much like that of Argentina just a few years ago. Lets all hope that Obama can bring us out of it.

JoJo replies:
Thanks Dennis...I'll get over it:-D It's too bad when the will of 48% of the people is considered a minority though. But we have Bush to thank for that. It will be extremely hard for anyone that takes over after his mess to "clean it up".

JoJo replies:
Yes, it's a nice saying when years ago America was really a "melting pot"...when people that immigrated here for a new life where proud of their new country and did all they could to work hard and contribute for their new life. The term "melting pot" came from that. People coming over and mingling in with those that were already here. Taking their own customs and infusing them nicely with american customs and ideas. It wasn't always easy but a nice balance was created b/c everyone was working hard for the same dream and had the same love of their country.

But there really is a big difference in the meaning of the "Melting Pot" of today and the one of over 50 yrs ago when people where immigrants who came here legally were proud of their country and actually were proud to be called American. They came here for the American dream and they worked hard to achieve it...today it seems to be all about "what they can get from America and what our country can do for them.

JoJo, Now we've got Hope and Change! I know you didn't vote for it, and the talk radio / fox network bunch can say that spells doom for the USA. But soon The radio and television will have to have equal time for differing views on the same networks and channels. Sort of like bi polar broadcasting. Funny, I saw a video some one here posted about kids in Iran who look to be on the verge of a nineteen 60's style social revolution, but this is fueled by the internet and the kids do not understand the ideology behind the divergent movements. There's probably a lot of the same in the states with the youth vote, They might hear about what a good idea socialism is from proffessors who fled oppressive countries to live here! Seems to me the notion of a dole in london that fed pop culture musicians is a typical thing a kid might go for,... I know I would love to be paid for essentially learning to play music of doing art of some kind or another. No Competition just a big hippie love fest. We share everything and make great music! The trouble is, with out something to rebel against, cultural changes rarely occur. Where's our vietnam? Johnson! music and art was very good during the Nixon era. With out Reagan There would be no hip hop. No Bebop with out Eisenhauer. These theories are just begining to form,... I have a renewed interest in photography, Walker Evans said no politics what so ever when he worked for the fsa. It's a seismic psycological shift on my part. I am not sure where this is going but the new regime makes me want to stop playing music and make everything stop with still photographs,... Silent etc,... until such time as there is need for another exploision. The banality of the homogenized politically correct social order will eventually get blurred into direct action and feirce rebellion. (disclaimer,... I do not know who is making all this up.)

JoJo, I mean no disrespect, but have you ever questioned the motives of John McCain? I know you question Obama's, which i must say i am proud of. You know I have questioned both and i still dont feel either would or will bring the change this country needs in the huge spectrum of life. The one thing i can confidently say about Obama is that his presence as our president will send positive waves of racial unity here in the US and around the globe. But i worry thats about it.

What i dont understand is how people can just except misinformation and disinformation as though it were truth or some how worthy of leading a nation. Both voted for our money to be ripped away and fed to corporate greed, yet not once did they give an answer as to why. both support ill advised foreign policy; Iraq war, Blind eye from Darfur is just one of several genocides, full backing on Israel, and talk about Iran as though it was ready to start sending nuc's over seas and harbor "terrorists". Iran spends a little over 1% on their military if im not mistaken. 1%!!!!!! Both cant and havent answered one fucking question in a sincere and honest straight forward manner. this doesnt bother you? JoJo i know you, me and the people that are responding here and elsewhere arent stupid. but when we dont question everything and ask why?! why!? WHY!!!!? we loose our voice.

People excepting these things with out Question are a proof of your nations over all stupidity(ignorance a better word?). I am still outraged that more hasnt been done to stir this nations people to resist the lies of Bush! Jesus!!!! this guy has gotten away with so much its unbelievable!!! and he is walking away squeaky fucking clean.

These 3 things are just a few that no one can deny with any factual or reasonable statement. These 3 things are a sign of corruption and a step farther away from "we the people" and what our country really stands for. And please dont take this comment as a bash on your pride, it isnt at all. everyone should be proud of who they are and where they come from and what they represent. But we should not let our pride blind us from the fact that even a "good" side can become corrupt. I my self dont pick one side. I dont feel that any one side has all the answers. because if they did, we would not be in the shit and slidding in it, things would be good and life would be at the least Just.

Does it not strike you as odd that every nominee that was not allowed to debate in the last several elections.... for example Nader, Paul, McKinney, and so on have clean records, Have actually with out a doubt been for the people, and been actively pursuing the happiness of the people for the people? These people share more selflessness then most priests do. They have nothing to hide. They are active citizens and are active in keeping our civil liberties alive and well. Instead they are labeled as radical and as one way or the fuck other! Yet we dont think twice about what has been done by Bush and how these "popular" presidential nominees beat around the bush when it comes to answering real Questions....(a big big sigh)

I am deeply disturbed by these people. so few on both sides share the view of selflessness. So few on both sides share the truth and even more disturbing is that they talk as though its rocket science. as though us average americans cant understand a fucking word from their pork belly fat fuck mouths. That is disrespectful on so many levels. Neither Obama nor McCain are even close to being worthy of leading this country.

Guido,
I think you should do some research on the affects that war does to the human mind.
...what do you base your views on? are you pro war or or anti war? are you for occupying anothers country or for letting people be responsible for their own lives? do you believe in freedom or simply following the majority? And what does a POW have that another doesnt? he has sorrows that are not of a leaders quality. War is rarely justified. War fucks people up! and it doesnt just affect the person who endured such tragedy! it affects all that know him or her. it creates a hatred and anger that runs deeper then ones own upbringing. i have a father that was in vietnam, both grandfathers and great uncles that served in WWII, Korean war and so on. My Grandfather was the guy who took the US soldiers, packed like sardines, to the shores of Normandy, repeatedly. First one in and last one out. My entire family has endured almost every war known to US soil. War brings nothing good to nothing. It seems to seep the soul out of man and put a rabid dog in return. Dont get me wrong there are and where plenty of decent men that went and came back. My father and his grandfather and my grandmothers brothers, all in all, are and were good decent men, but had and have a mean streak that i didnt need to see more then once. you know what i mean!?

Better yet scratch doing the research on the human brain after war, just go visit war veterans and see what they have to say.

Well said Guido. The Bush presidency was a disaster and you are right...McCain is not Bush. Now we must look forward and as an American I can only stand behind the new president and hope he will go with his gut and NOT along party lines.
Thanks for your post.

As a independent conservative, I find these postings interesting! The basis for this nation - the US has been lost in the minds for most Americans who think in ignorance. When we no longer teach that the Constitution is what has guided and ought to continue to guide this nation along with the other Founding documents, we see the rise of candidates and yes presidents who wish to take great liberties - yes outside the bounds of the Constitution. When we completely lose the reason and understanding of our founding of our nation as a people, we will cease to exist.Furthermore it was one of our early presidents, John Adams who said that this country can only be governed by a Christian people. When we lose our heart and soul, our founding and our heritage, we will have lost our way. We will no longer be a beacon shining on a hill to the other nations. We will no longer be a privelege, a destination or a destiny for those who seek freedom from persecution, strife, poverty and war.We will become a broken people disillusioned by greed, selfishness, liberties not envisioned nor guaranteed by the Constitution, etc. If we as Americans truly believe in the preamble of the Constitution which states that all are created equal....and are endowed with certain unalienable rights such as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness(or the former: pursuit of wealth) we will come to live as a just and harmonious people - regardless of wealth, race, religion, political affiliation, etc.
Yes we must rid ourselves of the excesses of both government, business and the mis- and disinformation of the mass media (which perpetuates lies and distorts truth). How do we get back: by building a culture of life, smaller government and pledging ourselves to upholding the Constitution. This is the only way back from this "mess" , the edge of the precipice that has brought us president elect Obama. He is only a symptom of what's happening ion the body politic. I think a good start is to support candidates that run on the above ideas like Sarah Palin! We need reform now and I hope it comes in the way we truly need it!

Some of the most ignorant comments I have ever read. McCain is a good well meaning man. However it would have been more of the same down hill slide if he won. Palin?? Give me a fukkin break! In one of her last speeches she told us the wars are almost won. Tell that to our troops over seas. Joe the plumber? He wasn't even a plumber. He was thinking of buying a plumbing business. The country is in decline and it started 8 years ago with the senate allowing tax breaks for big businesses locating in China.
Do you people really want the banker, Wall St, and fukkin corporate crooks running things? 10 million dollar a year bonuses for CEOs asking for bail outs???
Hey Cindy!! I am disappointed too. I voted for Bush twice.
The racism out there is is bad for our country.

You know Al you are both smart and as dumb as a rock so you balance out, meaning O..!!
I agree with you about the banks and all of this bonuses business ect. ect.
The fault here is both parties of government and those in big business who are thieves stealing our money and future, who are killing us.... Not the plumber or palin?? Mc Cain wasn't smart enough to win......!
