I know, I know.... I shouldn't complain, but we here in the UK think that having dry, sunny weather is wonderful and when the temperatures are close to 24C [75F] then it's perfect, but when it's 28C [82F] in the shade, then that's just a tad too hot for us to be comfortable. You see we kind of 'leak' and it's so not a good look!!! The humidity level this morning was 93% - now that's not right.!! It's about 60% at the moment, and that's still not good. It's perfect for the washing to dry, and that's exactly what's happening now. It tends to make the gravel on the driveway a tad hot...............

as you can see Boo walking quickly across it to get in the shade!!! She has a triple layer of fur and being black as well - she tends to find hot weather like this a bit uncomfortable....

The flowers love it though - I did my duty last night and watered my pots and the garden - thanks to Mickey making me a long hose. I've fixed the nozzle on properly now, so no extra showers!!!

As you can see - my driveway is an absolute riot of colour. I'm so pleased. It does the heart good to come home and see this display greeting you.

After I'd hung out the washing, I sat down in the shade for a few minutes and saw some empty poppy heads.............

I remember drawing one when I was in Art School and it took me 24 hours over the weekend to do it in pencil, with the help of a large magnifying glass to make sure I captured every bit. Oooh it would have been so easy if I'd had the facility of a digital camera - though back in 1964, that wasn't even in anyone's future idea.

These baby snapdragons are so pretty and they come in many different colours - I like this dark pink and white...........

These 'corn' poppies are so pretty. They are in pale to bright orange, with the odd yellow clumped in for good measure............

There is a new red flower in the wild patch and it's a fascinating kind of flower. Very intricate and lovely colours. Going from red to pink to white................

The peach begonia - now what a beautiful flower. Just look at the petals and how they are displayed - just like a fan...............

The white begonia is gorgeous too - looking at their petals in the sunlight is beautiful.......

I noticed this little snail had crept into the centre of the nasturtium, probably to get out of the excessive heat. Rather cute.............

Finally the dead head of a weed, can look stupendous. How pretty is this?? Must make sure the 'spores' don't go walkabout in the wind............... LOL

Okay am off out now for a little visit to the river. Mandi comes home on Friday so my personal jaunts out in the car will come to a close. Still she'll always take me if I need to get anywhere. Speak to you all soon.
