Well folks, I can hardly believe it - it's been a week now that we've had this sort of weather and it's wonderful. Apart from the fact that it means I have to water my pots every night which is quite a feat, me and heavy watering cans don't do too well, but at least I don't have to cut the lawn too much, because the grass isn't growing as fast as it does when we have a lot of rain. The depth of the soil underneath the grass is quite thin as it used to be the cobbled carriage way infront of the house way back when. So now and again I can actually find the odd cobble which is a pain, at least my mower has plastic cutters so they don't get damaged as a metal cutter would be.

I noticed that more new flowers have opened up - some lovely antirrhinum or snapdragons as I call them, have bloomed...........

So when they fully open - there will be a riot of colour..................... then I discovered a wild tiny rambling rose underneath the other lounge window - perfectly formed yet so tiny - about the size of my small finger nail............

I also have some other rambling roses growing in the hedge which makes a lovely splash of colour.................

I decided to cut the grass this afternoon because it needed it and also I felt I was lazy after I'd read about Mickey's exploits these last couple of days............ and I saw that there are some cherries which have survived and are starting to change colour - also the damson tree which did give me some lovely blossom in the spring, was quite laden with fruit.............

So then it was a case of seeing how much the nasturtium plants are popping up everywhere - some in pots, and some in the garden itself.............

They are an absolute delight to have in my garden - they are so vibrant in their colour and so lovely to photograph...............

Finally my wild flower pot and patches are starting to take shape with some flowers I don't know the name of.............

Of course Pippin had to oversee my efforts and found the old chair a good advantage point............

Finally - I have been feeling very down that all my poppies were either yellow or orange and I found two beautiful red poppies at last. I am over the moon, because I just love them.............

The petals are almost like crepe paper - so beautiful.

Okay that's about it - Mandi is having a great time in Turkey - she's discovered that Dogan is a lousy photographer as she thought their home was quite small - she's found out that it's very large. Their lounge manages to cope with 3 large sofas and a glass dining table and 4 chairs with loads of space around them. She is over the moon being with her husband at last and her best friend, Becky, has gone out with her for a few days. Zilli the dog met Mandi with her helipcopter tail but is now calmer and Minnoche the cat has made her welcome too. I'll let you all know how she's getting on.

Have a great weekend folks.
