Well the weather forecasters got it wrong again - thankfully. They told us that we would be having a dull and windy day - instead we had a wonderful sunny day and we decided to go and have our breakfast/lunch on the beach.

As it was a Sunday - we knew the beach would be crowded and not being something we enjoy, we went back to the mudflats where we'd been before......

The tide was out again - but this time instead of trekking our way across the burrows, past sheep etc, we stopped the car before that and went onto the small little beach to the side of the mudflats.........

This way we saw places from a different angle and there were loads of small rock pools which I enjoyed exploring.......

The hassocks look really strange with the grass all soaking wet and sort of tangled, just like when you've washed your hair and just roughly dried it...........

The little pools were really quite fascinating to explore really. Shows you how much I need to get out more doesn't it? LOL There were so many tiny snail shells clinging to each other for dear life and the cockle shells were plentiful..........

There was a type of fungus growing on the stones - nice and yellow......

I remember watching people walking across the mudflats when I was a child and collecting cockles for their tea..! Whoever looked at these things and thought ''Yum yum'' needs shooting!! They look awful and all orangey and grey/white. Yuk yuk......

Then we saw a group of men - 8 in blue overalls and 4 yellow overalls. They were a fair distance away from us and we really were wondering what on earth they were doing over there - then we saw the Coastguard van there and so we assumed it was something to do with them. It seemed from where we were sitting that the ones in yellow jackets were doing something at the shoreline and the blue overalls were just standing around [as men do] watching them.

A family was out there with a dog and boy was it having fun running around - a bit like that one I showed you yesterday with the red bucket..........

You could see the remains of a wreck on the mud, it's been there as long as I can remember it.......

Then after about an hour or so - the sea mist started coming in and we decided it was a better idea to come home and let the Boo out in the sun and if it turned bright again, then we could always sit out in the garden.
