Well today has been a nicer day in the sense of it being cooler than of late. It wasn't sunny at all, cloudy all day with a nice coolish wind. I obviously didn't do any sunbathing, nor surprisingly any hard work!!! No I tend to wait for those really hot, sticky days to do those things!!! LOL

So I decided to do some quilting. It's been too hot to have a quilt over me to do sewing for the last few weeks, and I must admit I really missed doing it. So today I managed to get quite a bit done and so caught up on recorded programmes. To me it was a lovely day.

We had been warned of heavy showers today and so I waited and waited and nothing. So that meant I had to water those damn flower pots again!!! They take 5 full watering cans to do them all. Pippin decided to join me............

He found the empty litter tray that I'd been putting water in while it was so hot, for animals, birds etc............

He seemed to like this enough to have a lie down..............

Yes he definitely thought it was a good thing to have a kip in...........

This is his "I don't care" look.................

Just to annoy you lot with more pics of the flowers, I noticed that more of the yellow lilies had bloomed and now almost all the lilies in that one pot has opened out......

I am really pleased with these plants. They only cost me £1 ($2) for 3 plants and so I got about 9 and I am so so pleased that for £3 I got all these beautiful flowers to brighten up my driveway.

The petunias are just flowering more and more - they're amazing. I again bought small plants and I got 10 plants for £2 ($4) - I bought 20 plants and got this beautiful display altogether for £4. Can't beat that. Also these petunias just keep coming. They've been out in bloom for over 5 weeks now.

So for a grand total of £7 I've got this wonderful colourful part of my drive. Hence I must keep watering them.
I noticed that there are some nasturtiums starting to grow, so that'll take care of August and September, just in time for the mombretia to start their display.
