Went out into the strong wind today to take pictures of the lilac trees which have started to come out. I am so lucky that whoever planted the trees oh so many many years ago - certainly before we moved in here in 1959 - they planted alternate colours. So I have white lilacs, then dark purple, then pale lilac, then white and so on. The paler lilac is all over the place, the white and dark purple are coming up in other places too now, so I'm getting a lovely splash of colour......

This is the dark purple one...............

My pale lilac one.....................

The white one - which seems to be the only one with a scent........... and it's heavenly.

More blossom is coming out on my other apple tree. It's amazing how different kinds of apple trees have different types of blossom......

These Canterbury Bells or aquiligea, or even Ladies' bonnets are popping up all over the place as they self seed.

This is the banks of bluebells in my driveway. They are in amongst the lilac trees. So it's a lovely splash of colour.

Just thought you'd like to see some of my lovely trees displaying their colours.
