I honestly thought my lily had died, and so I put it in, in its pot, in the back porch, to await a time that Emily could put it on the compost heap!!! Well other things were more important so it was left in my porch. Then I was so surprised to see some growth in the soil.

Emily and I decided that we would wait and see what happens. Last week I noticed that the flower was starting to bud and then yesterday the bud coloured and this morning, the beautiful flower emerged.....

I couldn't believe how beautiful it had become.....

I'm not aware of it having any scent - although I do know that it usually has some. Still at least I've got a gorgeous flower.

This week has been considerably hot, which I gather is usual for everyone else. Mandi is trying to cope with temperatures of the middle 40's and is struggling. Whereas here in my home, the temps have reached 34C yesterday and as I write this blog, it's 33C and I daren't switch on the fan - trying to save electricity. What I've done to cool down is to wipe a wet wipe across my face and along my neckline etc, and then waft a large envelope and that really cools me down and its FREE!!!!!

My poor garden - okay my overgrown messy garden - has been struggling to survive because of the lack of rain - I'm not complaining though!!!! Apparently we are to expect rain and cooler temperatures next week. Shame really, it's been lovely having the lounge window wide open all day. Still it's been hotter than ever before according to the local weather reports.

Okay folks, I hope you are all enjoying the weekend (what's left of it) and that you all have a wonderful week to come. All I can ask of you though, is to take care out there.
