I’m an image created by you for you to use. If you do not like the image it's your problem and has nothing to do with me.
Those words may sound strange and many would like to dismiss them. But it doesn't change the fact that everyone we think we know is an images created by us, for us. No matter whom that person may be.
We don’t have to look outside ourselves to see we are not the same in the eyes of our spouse, children, parents and others. Each and everyone create an image of us according to and for himself.
We are constantly looking and pointing at each others and judging, his is like this and she like that. That’s creating an image and has nothing to do with reality.
What happens is this, we take peoples words and actions and search in our memory for similar words and actions which we then judge good or bad according to our own idea. At the same time we create an image of the owner of the words and actions and he becomes boring or funny, good or bad, like this or that, all according to our own valuation.
Sometimes our image creation gives us the idea we have to criticize someone. Scold and quarrel for that matter. Try to influence and change others.
But that is, for obvious reasons, not necessary. It is in fact impossible. Because the faults we find in others are ours. Created and named from our memory which we have gathered through different experiences and learning.
No only because what others are trying to influence is their own creation. But also because they and what they say is also our image of them.
We have to live according to ourselves. And stand alone, without support, true to ourselves no matter what others think or say.
Still it would be better if we stopped creating images altogether, for most of the time it only creates problems and makes live more difficult for us. It not only hinders us in seeing each others as we truly are but our relationship with each other is in fact none.
To stop all image making we have to let go of the image I and see ourselves as we are and for that we have to let go of all our knowledge until nothing is left. Leave everything. Not gather more knowledge to what’s already there.
When everything is gone there is reality. That’s truth, which is life, which is we, each and everyone. And where there is truth there is no creations of images.
Then we can communicate to each others, for then we see and hear what is being said and what is not being said, no only what we want to be or think is.
The only reality is us and our actions each moment. Everything else is an image.
