Oregon Man Shot by Dog During Hunting Trip

PORTLAND, Ore. — Henry Marcum has nothing but kind words for the dog that shot his 23-year-old son this weekend.

Marcum says his son, Matthew, was standing in Tillamook Bay at the start of duck-hunting trip when his dog jumped into the boat, setting off a 12-gauge shotgun.

The blast blew a hole in the aluminum boat before hitting Marcum, who is recovering from injuries to his legs and buttocks at Portland’s Legacy Emanuel Hospital.

Henry Marcum says he’s not angry with the dog, and neither is his son.

The elder Marcum says the Labrador named Drake is a good dog and the shooting is “just one of those things.”

Wischfull thinking of a Comunist Igor Panarin

A russian professor, Igor Panarin, is causing a stir, predicting more doom and gloom in the United States because of the economic crisis, eventually leading to a break-up of the Union.

Currently at the diplomatic academy of Russia's Ministry of Foriegn Affairs, Panarin forecasts a dramatic separation of the country into six major parts: the Pacific coast; the South; Texas; the Atlantic coast, central states and the northern states.

In the interview that was transcribed by Izvestia, a Russain newspaper,. Panarin said, “The dollar isn’t secured by anything, the country’s foreign debt has grown like an avalanche; this is a pyramid, which has to collapse.”

He went on to say, “Dissatisfaction is growing, and it is only being held back at the moment by the elections, and the hope” that President- elect Barack Obama “can work miracles.”

Not suprisingly, Panarin says the America's place will be taken by China and Russia. Maybe, the one who is being held together by "hope", is Panarin.

Een Russische geleerde is er zeker van: de Verenigde Staten spatten uit elkaar door de financieel- economische crisis en dat kan al heel vlug gebeuren. Ze zullen zich wegens heersend ongenoegen opsplitsen in zes landen en later blijven wereldwijd slechts twee grootmachten over: Rusland en China.

Igor Panarin, professor in de diplomatieke wetenschappen en verbonden aan het Russische ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, doet zijn voorspelling in de krant Izvestia. Volgens hem is de Amerikaanse dollar alle beveiliging kwijtgespeeld, heeft de schuldenberg van de Verenigde Staten een recordhoogte bereikt en is de economische piramide in ijltempo aan het afbrokkelen.

Panarin is ervan overtuigd dat de fatale crisis nog verergert, dat de werkloosheid nog gaat toenemen en dat de burgers al hun spaargeld gaan verliezen. “Het zijn allemaal factoren die het einde van de Verenigde Staten inluiden.”

De professor zegt dat de ontevredenheid toeneemt, dat die voorlopig even is getemperd door de verkiezing van Barack Obama als president van wie mirakels verwacht worden, maar dat de komende lente zal blijken dat mirakels niet bestaan.

Hij ziet de VS uiteenvallen in zes entiteiten: de Pacific Coast, het zuiden, Texas, de Atlantic Coast, de centrale staten en de noordelijke staten. Alaska wordt op termijn Russisch territorium en de wereld zal nog slechts twee machtige staten kennen: China en Rusland.
