Seminar for Polish Vegetarians and Esperantists
On July 25th, the first Saturday of the World Esperanto Congress, the World Esperantist Vegetarian Association (TEVA), is organizing a seminar for vegetarians and others interested in the ethical treatment of animals. People from various countries will be giving short talks, followed by discussions, on the following themes:
- the history of TEVA
- Vegetarianism and Esperanto: what have they in common?
- Vegetarianism in Poland (we're still looking for someone who would do this part!)
- The first meatless city: Ghent, Belgium
- Meat and its consequences for the environment
In addition, people will have the opportunity to tell us about the state of the vegetarian movement in other countries; and if you would like to introduce a relevant theme of your own, please let us know in advance.
Venue: Bialystok Technical University (Politechnika Bialostocka), Wiejska 45, 15-089 Bialystok;
Time: 14.30 to 17.00 (or shorter, depending on the need for translation)
What to bring: An open mind, and a willingness to share opinions
Languages to be used: Esperanto, Polish (translation will be provided), English
Registration: if possible, let us know in advance that you hope to attend by e-mailing Heidi Goes (teva@ivu.org); but if you can't, come anyway!

Por la unua fojo, TEVA havos sian propran seminarieton, en la alventago de la Universala Kongreso, sabaton la 25an de julio. Ĝi okazos de la 14a30 ĝis la 17a en la kongresejo. Informoj pri la ekzakta loko haveblos ĉe la giĉetoj kie oni prenas la kongressakon.
Dum la seminario, malfermita por TEVA-membroj kaj polaj vegetaranoj, estos prelegetoj pri la simileco inter Esperanto kaj vegetarismo, pri la historio de TEVA, pri la malbonaj efikoj de viandomanĝado sur la medio, pri la pola vegetara movado (serĉatas preleganto!), … Estos ebleco rakonti pri la vegetara (!) movado en sia lando.
