Many of you have abandoned Flickr for ipernity...as many others did five years ago, when Flickr was undergoing earlier, upsetting changes. Now, as then, I'm maintaining my primary commitment to Flickr — hoping they will fix what most needs fixing and that I will get more comfortable with those things that are not worse than before but simply different. My Flickr stream is more than simply a collection of my photos. It is a record of the deep social ties I have formed there. Importing my pictures here would leave behind all of the comments and all of the person-to-person bonds that my friends and I have formed over the last seven years. I am unwilling to give that up. But for those of you who have completely burned your bridges, I will maintain a pied à terre here and post occasionally. We will miss you on Flickr.
