Prevented from Leaving to Study

Saturday July 4, 2009 at 12:49PM

The siege of Gaza continues. Buildings destroyed during the Israeli massacre six months ago remain in rubbles: no building materials are allowed in. Food, fuel, medicine and other necessary materials and equipment are prevented from entering the Gaza strip. The sick cannot leave to receive treatment elsewhere and no one else is allowed to leave for any reason. Philp Weiss posted the video below on his blog Mondoweiss where a Palestinian young woman from Gaza who has won a scholarship was prevented from leaving.

Well I am not sure how much more needs to happen before boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) be imposed on the Apartheid state of Israel. As with the Apartheid regime of South Africa, the Apartheid State of Israel needs to be held to account. Join the call to bycott, divest and sanction Israel for its ctions. Apartheid in South Africa was unacceptable and its unacceptable anywhere.

"We left Gaza with a tremendous responsibility to convey our understanding to the world. Today I'm going to try and execute part of my responsibility by posting videos of two students who have tried to leave Gaza on scholarships but have been prevented from doing so."

"Summer Abu Zayed is the woman. She's 23, and dressed immaculately, in a white jacket. She reminded me of a student council president. She has a formal, outgoing quality, she's a graduate of Al-Aqsa University. She came to our hotel to talk to us about her youth organization. Then--23 seconds into the video--Tom Suarez, a member of our delegation, asks her about the scholarships she's gotten stopped from accepting. Summer begins by telling another student's story."

Don't worry, no sanctions would ever be imposed on Israel. The Quartet and the USA are not finding any harm in all that so they have the green light to do what they want. You know, this is all good to keep the terrorists (1.5 millions in number) under control, and thus they would not be a threat on democracy and the free world. The only way for them to become less terrorist and maybe me liable to be treated slightly more as humans is to recognize that the Apartheid State is racist and it is there for only one group of its population, and this based on religion. Once the "terrorists" recognize them then Israel would feel free to let their brothers within the green line to join them (i.e. transfer, in other words ethnic cleansing) and soon you would have 2 millions, under siege.
