Zollverein. How beautiful and artful can words sound, when they are in another language than my own. Industrial words, sounding like statues made of steel and rust: "Fördergerust" "Zeche Prosper" "Kokerei" "Erdgeschoss" "Kohlenwäsche". Worth the journey.

I was in Cambrai and discovered that the top of cool is cruising around in a car whilst playing electro in loud mode. I saw a guy circle a parking lot five times, another one (trousers of a red jumpsuit, white t shirt over his belly and moustache and haircut fitting a Schlagersänger lover) standing casually next to his small peugeot, door open, monotones at top volume, people hanging out of windows. It was eerie, I crossed the street and walked away, puzzled.

The documenta in Kassel, and on the way back to the Zollverein Essen, industrial site in the Ruhr. Documenta en Kassel itself were great, saw a few things that impressed me a great deal, and the atmosphere was very nice. The Zollverein in Essen was impressive, hadn't the time to see it thoroughly but it was amazing, reader of this blog I advise you: go visit the Zollverein and don't forget your camera,

I am getting the hang of how this works, Without the groups it's harder to generate visitors, or find pictures i am interested in, have to use the tags for that. Furthermore, the overall experience seems more directed towards the "social aspect" than to photo sharing, and thus is photography a means to this end. This reminds me (again) more of the dutch Hyves community than of Flickr. And I have to catch up on my knowledge of the german language, it seems to be the ipernity-Sprache at the mo…

Seems faster and I only just got the hang of how to find other pictures. What I don't like is the way you can personalize your page, it seems to give too few possibilities, so pages often turn out "uneven" the outlook is a bit like the dutch Hyves community, where you can see pages that give you dizzy spells. I miss the groups too Well we'll see.
