C'era una volta... e noi ci siamo cresciuti.
Non so se la definizione 'rock sinfonico' sia stata mai usata al di fuori dell'Italia e qualcuno di voi potrà confermarlo o smentirlo. Noi sappiamo di cosa parliamo ma siccome qui ci potrebbero leggere anche altri spettatori, più in basso provo a fare degli esempi.
La sostanza era che questa musica era composta da melodia, brani lunghi (>5 min.) e non necessariamente 'cantati'. Mi dimentico qualcosa?

Gruppi che venivano catalogati in questo 'stile' erano decisamente:

• Genesis
• King Crimson
• Jethro Tull

[e lascio la lista aperta, sia per pigrizia che per suscitare il vostro intervento...]

Visto che al tempo non esistevano i 'videclip' e che il © esiste anche su YouTube, non si trova molto di qualità decente. Dei Genesis, intanto, ho trovato questo:

Ce n'erano anche altri ma uno (orrore!) era di un concerto quando già "and then there were three", in cui Phil Collins (che a me comunque piace molto) faceva il cantante. Sarò uno schifoso purista ma per me i Genesis sono con Peter Gabriel alla voce. Tutto il resto è necrofilia...

Remarkable is their album "Life at the Pyramids" (1987) recorded live at the pyramids in Egypt.

Sto cercando di ricordarmi il nome di una band soul e R&B che negli anni Novanta faceva canzoncine leggere e cover di Kool & the Gang, KC & the Sunshine Band, Temptations, oltre a canzoni proprie.
Molto da ballare, erano neri e giovani, tipo "boy band".
Mi ricordo che avevano fatto un medley che si chiamava tipo "Celebrate qualchecosa" o "Tribute...".
Hanno anche avuto qualche video in "heavy rotation" su MTV italiana.

Chi se li ricorda?

Come si cambia: una volta, da ragazzo-quasi-adulto, questa suscitava ricordi. Ora non più. Non so se è una cosa bella o no.
