You Know You Are A Ipernity Junkie When......

  • You are the admin to over 25 groups.
  • You have over 10,000 docs posted.
  • Ipernity is the first web site you log on to in the morning and the last when you turn it off at night. Every day.
  • You become depressed when someone leaves your group.
  • You sneak over to check on your Ipernity messages on your work computer.
  • You spend more time talking to your friends on Ipernity than you do your wife (spouse)
  • You worry that the translator to foreign languages will put something that will make you look stupid.
  • You worry when you drop your naked wife's photos into the public Kit Kat Klub for kittens group that requires admin approval so you can't remove the submission.
  • You make a new topic for discussion in a group and you are the only who replies.
  • You plan where you go on vacation around that they have free web access.

You get the drift. Tell me what makes YOU think you are a Ipernity Junkie?

I'm not saying I have all of these symptoms or that you are a junkie if you have one or more them.

I will add new symptoms as you suggest them.

  • You see something that would be great to post and regret you don't have your camera with you.
  • You tell your wife "5 more minutes" and it turns into 2 hours at 2am in the morning on a work day.

You know, I'm not there yet. I arrived here as a refugee from Flickr and wish that this site had as many members/docs as Flickr. I LOVE Ipernity's sensibilities and rational thinking as opposed to the Nazis at Flickr, but the network is just not big enough for me to get completely "junkied" about it!

Ipernity has grown quite a bit over the last year but it is real hard to take on Flickr with all the muscle they get from being backed by Yahoo. Flickr has pissed a lot of people off but still manages to get more members. Until some Internet giant buys Ipernity out to give Flickr some real competition it's going to be a little slower here. I have stayed with Flickr but have noticed a definite slow down of viewers there too. So many groups that it dilutes the viewers per group.

well i am not an admin for any of the groups, just a mod for like 3, but i do go on in the morning and at night. I dont know if only 1 thing on the list makes me an addict or not, But One thing i do that is not listed, is when im out and about, sometimes i see a girl with a certain kind of look, i think, "i think the ipernity folks will like this chick".

I am definitely influenced by fans of my work. When sorting thru a recent shoot I say I got to post this one for a members even if I don't really care for it myself. I don't really like the butt shot closeups groups or the foot fetish groups but I post to them because I know a member I like has made a lot of good comments. I think a good photographer can shoot good images of anything not just the stuff they like. I added new symptom per your comment.

I enjoy my travels around the world thru the lens of the posters I follow regularly. You do a fantastic job Gee Dubb. Thanks for sharing. I suppose I am a commited commentor. I just don't have much to photograph in the small town close to me. Country living at it's finest in NW New Mexico. I usually do Iper for a couple of hours each day. I do appreciate when the posters acknowledge that they enjoy the comments, I see so many of the photos show many views and only a few comments if any.

true gee dub, I also find myself taking pictures of women I dont necessarily find totally hot ( like Asians, as I am not partial to them ) only for the viewers here that find them more attractive than I do.

I love taking photos of black women but they don't get nearly the views of most other nationalities, so I don't post as many for that reason. Very light skinned or very dark skinned people are much harder to get good shots of.

I was more of a Flickr junkie than an Iper then I got deleted again. So, I think I'll be joining the rakes of Iper's that are junkies. I am finding the quality of people here are better.

So now when the wife comes in to the home office in her negligee and says "Come to bed dear" and all you can think of is the next click. Your a JUNKIE!

I have been a member of Ipernity for over a year now, and am merely using my Flickr Stream uploads for cannibalising - I hate them so much that once I have transferred most (if not all my stuff), I shall probably close the Account.
I did think at first that Ipernity was a little "parochial", but I am overwhelmed by the growth and number of contacts - I have NO regrets about joining!

Errr, I post very few photographs of naked women - sorry!
