I am sorry to inform you, that due to a variety of circumstances, the project pictopedia is on hold. This might come as a surprise to many of you who have undoubtedly seen the real and promising energy and excitement in the current site and were right to assume great things to come (which were in fact already in the making).

This step was not taken lightheartedly and followed a very careful evaluation of the current circumstances. pictopedia deserves to be done right. That's why the decision was made to hold the project and to continue in the background until the project is setup is right and can move forward once again. None of you will probably want to stick around and wait for that day, so for the moment, this is an apology for currently not being able to continue at this point and a thank you for having come here and having demonstrating to everyone, that a site like this is really needed.

I firmly believe in the timeless importance of an independent photo website. This is what pictopedia stands for. Thanks for your support and if all goes well we'll see each other again here, when pictopedia awakes from its current sleep.

Es tut mir leid, euch darüber informieren zu müssen, dass aufgrund einer Vielzahl besonderer Umstände das Projekt pictopedia ruht. Dies mag eine Überraschung für alle sein, die zweifelsfrei reale und vielversprechende Energie in der jetzigen Site wahrgenommen haben und mit der Annahme dass große Dinge kommen (und auch schon in der Durchführung waren) richtig lagen.

Dieser Schritt wurde nicht leichtfertig gegangen und folgt einer detaillierten Evaluation der jetzigen Umstände. pictopedia verdient es, richtig gemacht zu werden. Deswegen wurde die Entscheidung getroffen, das Projekt vorerst ruhen zu lassen, und die Arbeiten im Hintergrund fortzuführen, bis das Projekt richtig aufgesetzt ist und wieder vorwärts gehen kann. Niemand von euch wird auf diesen Tag warten wollen, deswegen an dieser Stelle eine Entschuldigung, für die fehlenden Ressourcen zur momentanen Fortführung und ein Dankeschön, dafür, dass ihr hierher gekommen seid, um allen zu zeigen, dass eine Site dieser Art wirklich gebraucht wird.

Ich glaube fest an die zeitlose Wichtigkeit einer unabhängigen Fotowebsite. Dafür steht pictopedia. Danke für eure Unterstützung und wenn alles gut geht, sehen wir uns hier wieder, wenn pictopedia aus ihrem jetzigen Schlaf erwacht.

This morning i had an idea. In the last days i always tried it with the same pic. Today i tried another different pic and it works. And then i renamed the pic which does'nt work in the last days, and it works too !!!

i don't know where the problem was??? perhaps you have an idea ;-)

Mir gelang es heute weider den ganzen tag NICHT irgendwie ein bild hochzuladen, weder mit uploader noch direkt im browser - nervt mich gerade !!! I've tried the whole day to upload some pictures. No way - i'm a bit irritated !!!

Since yesterday evening (2.7.) i have problems too. I can`t upload my pics. I tried iper upload and the online tools, but there was no way. and now, in the morning the same... ;-( Any ideas???
but i'm full of hope - they will fix it !!

In the next days i will check out ipernity as an flickr-alternative. The first pics were uploaded !!!
