This picture is inspired by a song from Leonard Cohen's album with the same title.  It's about what happens when people leave. How do we cope with the loss?

He is looking through the window on a wintry morning collecting memories from the past. He sees two symbolic crosses, the larger one in the foreground and a smaller one behind. Solace is found in redemption.
