Let me introduce you to Mr. B:
He's quite a guy. Born in 1987 in British Columbia, Canada, he's a spry 26 year old, in pretty decent shape for a guy his age, if a little on the portly side. He loves travel and adventure and wandering the backroads with his friends and family. We've had some pretty amazing adventures with Mr. B and unlike me, he loves to have his picture taken.

Here he is at Curlew Lake in eastern Washington:

And here he is with his best buddy, Vinny the Van, in eastern Oregon:

Last fall he even got to go for a ferry ride up in his old birthplace of British Columbia, Canada. He liked rubbing shoulders with that big logging truck.

Even his innards are in pretty good shape although I have to tell you he's had his share of cosmetic surgery.

There's something special about a road trip with Mr. B. He's always ready for a good time and he takes everything in stride, even his failings, like the time his tire went flat and the time his hot water heater sprang a leak. "It can all be fixed" he reminds us, "and the important thing is that we're all together and having adventures and seeing all this beautiful country."

Mr. B reminds us to take our time, to get lost once in awhile and to seek out the road less traveled. He reminds us that we don't need so much stuff and a small space can be as good as a big one. He reminds us that we're not getting any younger and now is the time to do the things we always said we wanted to do. Like I said, he's quite a guy!

So we're off on a road trip with Mr. B and a couple of other good friends. My camera is coming along of course, but no computer and since I have the most rudimentary of cell phones I won't be around for a week or so. That's a good thing. Sometimes I need to get out there in the real world and Mr. B reminds me of that all the time.

See ya down the road!
