My Flickr Pro Account is finally expiring. I am quite happy about the fact, that Flickr will see in their statistic, that I am not renewing.

I took the opportunity to copy some more pics from Flickr to Ipernity. Nothing new here.

I just finished some pending Uploads, including some Bento (Lunch) Boxes from my wife. Since there was no Group for those pieces of art, I founded one.

That was a long week in Houston for me. Havent had a chance to do much sightseeing, but I think I gained 5kg weight :)

Well anyway, a few pic still need to be processed, but nothing really impressive. I should not spent so much time with co-workers eating in the evening :)

Saturday I will fly to Houston for a week. If anybody is in the area and would like to meet and shoot let me know. Will be free in the evenings (and Sunday). Stay tuned for some pictures here.

Has anybody of your ever received an answer or thank you fro the Ipernity customer support? I wonder if I have a technical problem, if they dont understand english, or if it is just normal that no "thank you" is sent back for bug reports or suggestions.

Does anybody actually know what the Ipernity logo is supposed to be, and if there is a deeper meaning behind the name. Before I associate myself too deep with this (lifely!) community, I need to know all the nitty gritty details about it :)

If I do free association I think of "IP" (Intellectual Property) and "Ethernity" .. hmm. Well at least I know what the Beta means... and I hope they NEVER love me.

Just uploaded a picture with the Keyword "cafe" and Ipernity was so nice to correct it to "café"... I think I am going to learn french here - grins.

My wife seems to prefer 23hq.com. It has a nice Java uploader and the fact that it does not allow music content (possible rights violations) is also nice. But the site is pretty Web 1.0. A bit ugly and looked slow to me... hmm... hard decision. I really dont want to leave flickr or split a community.

Now that Yahoo decided to be hyper-careful and ban all german users from moderate to restricted content on Flickr, I am looking for alternatives.

The Ipernity UI is pretty close to Flickr (stolen the idea if you ask me!) and also the additional blog/sound functionality is nice for a community. Some parts of the UI need to get rid of french words, but overall it is prett useable.

Let's see how that develops. My main issue is the Flickr community, the friends i built up.. where will they move to (if Flickr does not change the censorship attitude).
