One of my first books on fish was: The Abyss.
It contained drawing of fish brought up from deep areas of the ocean by trawlers.
Now a days we send deep sea vehicles down, to these great depths, and take photos of these creatures.
My favorite drawing, from the book, was of a Viper fish and it still is my favorite of all the abyssal fish.
This Viper is only 4" long but when ya see face....

ya think he could gobble you up whole.

Many more strange fish lurk down there and the movie industry has had a field day making huge man eating monsters out of them. But in fact: most range from 2" to 6" long. Hardly man eaters.

And humans have just started to scratch the surfaces of the deeps.
