hello everyone.
I'd like to ask my fellow photographers here
how do you deal with copyright issues?
I watermark just about everything I upload.
I thought I was being paranoid until
I found this:
www.gostjohns.org/yellow_pages/index.asp?page=3
someone using one of my images for advertisement purposes
without paying me.
I'm flattered someone's found my work worthy enough to steal.
But, it's a dick move.
Please pay me for the right to use my work for commercial advertising purposes.
Thank you. :)

I don't really watermark my images on photo sharing sites like this as the uploads are to small to make anything better than a 4x6 print. But I do watermark all my images that I upload to my own website as they are uploaded as full size.

But if you made your living from your photographic work, and needed the money,
then you would want to get paid for you work as well.
also..
the site still loads for me..
and the crappy webmaster still hasn't corrected the problem with the site.
Argh.

I do think people do have ownership of what they produce like music and pictures. But with the internet this has entered a real whirlpool of change. Couple that with stupid music companies that think they can sue their customers into compliance and patent trolls that only exist to siphon money from other companies and aggressive patents as economic weapons and you have a true "mess", but as you said if you are an individual photographer living off the proceeds of your work it makes a huge difference. I "license" my work as share and share alike except for one thing, no commercial usage. And for me unlike you I don't worry about being ripped off as I don't make any money off my art. If I did then I think I would be more aggressive.
