While most of you might be sleeping by now, Insomnia takes its toll again on me, during this historical night of election in Iran...
Während die meisten von Euch nun schlafen dürften, bezahle ich mal wieder den Preis der Schlaflosigkeit, inmitten dieser historischen Wahlnacht im Iran...
Hat IRGENDJEMAND da draußen diese Botschaft überhaupt vernommen?!?

As hard as it is to keep sitting still, order my thoughts and think about my friends, relatives and aquaintances in Iran, who pilgrimidged to the ballot with all their hopes, fears, complaints, existential needs, their optimism, mixed feelings and a stale memory of the past presidential election...
It MUST be that one result has been achieved, which is not once again to be manipulated and silenced! Already one hour ago the "Spiegel online" reported , young people in the mega cities of Iran had been kept from the election by aggresive militia, or the election organizers hadn’t simply handed out enough ballots. Both facts would clearly lead to the former President of Irans' benefit. He has his voters abound in the poor rural population and the lower educational strata. His populism in many regions of Iran is asked, unbroken, bar any reason and in strong discourse to the high inflation rate, the desolate economic situation in the country and the partially abandoned medical care in many hospitals in the country, such as the recently re-tightened customs laws which lead the Iranian people to a society full of double-fake- morality. As unbelievably many young people are living in Iran of the Presence, their voices once again are endangered to drown unheard and uncounted in the shadowy political scheming games of the Ayatollahs. Many of those voices will disappear from streets and backstreets, as likely as from the universities of the country within the next days- unrecognized by western Media, unheard from the political opposition, which already pulls back into their residences, scared and horrified by the already beginning unrest among the reformist young people Iran. It might send cold shivers up the spine of some of the elderly fellows, reminding them of the 80ies in Iran...
I am anxious and yet dare to hope that once, only once in the long history of my birth country, not only
ALL SIGNS ARE POINTED OUT ON A REFORMATION OF THE SYSTEM,
but also the hearts, voices and minds of people are set
ON THE FUTURE OF IRAN-
a young Republic of Iran with fresh faces, voices and courageous nonviolent solutions who
CAN AND WILL
lead the country into calmer times.
Its time- finally.

- So schwer es mir fällt, ruhig zu sitzen, meine Gedanken zu ordnen und an meine Freunde und Bekannten im Iran zu denken, die mit all ihren Hoffnungen, Ängsten, Sorgen und existenziellen Nöten, ihrem Optimismus, gemischten Gefühlen und einer schalen Erinnerung an die letzten Präsidentschaftswahlen zur Wahlurne gepilgert sind....
Es MUSS doch ein Ergebnis erzielt worden sein, welches sich nicht wieder einmal manipulieren und totschweigen läßt...
- Bereits vor einer Stunde berichtet der Spiegel online, junge Menschen in den Millionenstädten seien an der Wahl gehindert worden- oder es habe schlichtweg zuwenige Wahlzettel gegeben. Beides käme dem vormals gewählten Präsidenten des Iran zugute. Er hat seine Wählerschaft Zuhauf in der armen Landbevölkerung und den unteren Bildungsschichten. Sein Populismus ist in vielen Regionen des Iran ungebrochen gefragt- bar jeder Vernunft und im krassen Diskurs zur hohen Inflationsrate, den desolaten wirtschaftlichen Verhältnissen im Land und der teilweise brach liegenden medizinischen Versorgung in vielen Krankenhäusern des Landes, so wie den erst vor kurzem erneut verschärften Sittengesetzen, welche die iranische Bevölkerung zu einer doppelmoralisierten Gesellschaft haben werden lassen.
- So unglaublich viele junge Menschen auch im Iran der heutigen Zeit leben- ihre Stimmen laufen wieder enmal Gefahr ungehört und ungezählt im Dunkel der politischen Ränkespiele der Ayatollahs unter zu gehen. Viele werden in den nächsten Tagen aus den Straßen, den Gassen und Universitäten verschwinden- unbemerkt von den westlichen Medien, ungehört von der Opposition, die sich verschreckt und entsetzt ob der bereits nun aufkeimenden Unruhen unter den reformistischen jungen Menschen des Landes in ihre Residenzen zurück zieht.
Da mag bei manch einem älteren Mitmenschen ein kalter Schauer der Erinnerung an die 80er Jahre den Rücken empor kriechen...
Ich bange und wage es dennoch zu hoffen, das EINMAL, nur ein einziges Mal in der langen Geschichte meines Geburtslandes, nicht nur alle ZEICHEN AUF REFORM, sondern auch auch die Herzen, Stimmen und Köpfe AUF DIE ZUKUNFT DES IRAN eingestellt sind-
eine junge Republik Iran mit frischen Gesichtern, mutigen Stimmen und gewaltfreien Lösungen die das Land in ruhigere
Zeiten führen können und WOLLEN.
Meine deutsch-iranische Seele blutet

Wahlen, sowie die heute in Iran stattfinden, dessen Ergebnisse werden dort hoffentlich einiges verbessern, solten es wenigstens - aber, dass es bei Wahlen - wie dort ( auch anderswo)- es nicht immer mit rechten Dingen zugeht das weiss man ja. So ist die Welt, man muss lernen sich damit abfinden, als einzelner kann man wenig, wenn garnichts, dagegen tun. .

Auch ich bin Realistin- ebenso aber auch Optimistin!
Würde JEDER EINZELNE Mensch im Iran oder sontwo auf der Welt sich angesichts stupider und korrupter Staatsgewalten resignierend zurück ziehen, gäbe es zwar gewiß weniger Gewalt und blutige Auseinandersetzungen auf der Welt- aber eben auch ganz klar WENIGER DEMOKRATIE!
Es ist doch ein uralter Hut, dass einige wenige Machtinhaber, die sogenannten und häufig leider auch selbsternannten "Volksvertreter", ihre Stellung durchaus gerne mit brutalster Waffengewalt und Einschränkung der persönlichen Freiheiten ihrer angeblichen Wähler zu verteidigen wissen.
Und das GEWALT GEGENGEWALT ERZEUGT ist auch nur eine Frage der Zeit- leider.
So sehr meine Seele blutet und mein Herz sich Frieden wünscht- die Toten auf den Straßen Teherans kämpfen für eine demokratische Republik Iran- und werden mit Sicherheit nicht von Schlagstöcken, Kugeln oder Wasserwerfern davon abzuhalten sein.
Ein bekanntes Kinderlied zietierend möchte ich nur mal als Denkanstoß geben:
"Alles muß klein beginnen,
las etwas Zeit verrinnen,
es muss nur Kraft gewinnen-
und endlich ist es GROSS."
Auch ich bin eine Einzelne im großen Intenret- und glaube fest daran, dass meine Worte hier und anderswo, erreichen sie auch nur einen Einzigen weiteren Menschen, dazu beitragen, die Augen nicht von den unglaublichen Vorgängen im Iran ab zu wenden. Die Menschen dort brauchen die Gewißheit, dass auch im westlichen Ausland Menschen hinschauen, zuhören und VERSTEHEN!

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Obviously all of us have been watching the news from Iran. And I want to start off by being very clear that it is up to Iranians to make decisions about who Iran’s leaders will be; that we respect Iranian sovereignty and want to avoid the United States being the issue inside of Iran, which sometimes the United States can be a handy political football — or discussions with the United States.
Having said all that, I am deeply troubled by the violence that I’ve been seeing on television. I think that the democratic process — free speech, the ability of people to peacefully dissent — all those are universal values and need to be respected. And whenever I see violence perpetrated on people who are peacefully dissenting, and whenever the American people see that, I think they’re, rightfully, troubled.
My understanding is, is that the Iranian government says that they are going to look into irregularities that have taken place. We weren’t on the ground, we did not have observers there, we did not have international observers on hand, so I can’t state definitively one way or another what happened with respect to the election. But what I can say is that there appears to be a sense on the part of people who were so hopeful and so engaged and so committed to democracy who now feel betrayed. And I think it’s important that, moving forward, whatever investigations take place are done in a way that is not resulting in bloodshed and is not resulting in people being stifled in expressing their views.
Now, with respect to the United States and our interactions with Iran, I’ve always believed that as odious as I consider some of President Ahmadinejad’s statements, as deep as the differences that exist between the United States and Iran on a range of core issues, that the use of tough, hard-headed diplomacy — diplomacy with no illusions about Iran and the nature of the differences between our two countries — is critical when it comes to pursuing a core set of our national security interests, specifically, making sure that we are not seeing a nuclear arms race in the Middle East triggered by Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon; making sure that Iran is not exporting terrorist activity. Those are core interests not just to the United States but I think to a peaceful world in general.
We will continue to pursue a tough, direct dialogue between our two countries, and we’ll see where it takes us. But even as we do so, I think it would be wrong for me to be silent about what we’ve seen on the television over the last few days. And what I would say to those people who put so much hope and energy and optimism into the political process, I would say to them that the world is watching and inspired by their participation, regardless of what the ultimate outcome of the election was. And they should know that the world is watching.
And particularly to the youth of Iran, I want them to know that we in the United States do not want to make any decisions for the Iranians, but we do believe that the Iranian people and their voices should be heard and respected.
