Mumbai terror attacks

Thursday November 27, 2008 at 08:13AM

A series of gun, bomb and grenade attacks across the Indian city of Mumbai last night at 9:30 PM.

Attacks were launched on about sixteen places.

Armed men attacked Mumbai train station which was very crowded, then they killed policemen and used their car going to one of the most visited place and firing in the streets indiscriminately.

At the same time Leopold, a famous restaurant, was assaulted in a violent attack with automatic weapons and grenades and several luxury hotels has well.

Panic started in the roads and people were trying to escape driving as far as they could but some snipers were also firing at cars and taxis.

There was a blast outside the city's airport, in cinema halls and at an hospital were the first injured victims were coming.

In hotel Oberoi the terrorists came inside killing the four women who were working as receptionist, in hotel Taj three members of staff were shot dead as well.

Then several people in five luxury hotels became hostages.

"They wanted anyone with British or American passports," one witness at the hotel told the NDTV Indian news channel. "They wanted foreigners."

Some people were trying to escape with towels and bed covers.

Later there was an huge fire devastating the heritage hotel Taj.

All night long the city was under chaos, under fear with no place safe.

It is 1:30 PM now and hotels are still under the control of those terrorists.

They are calling themselves Decan Mujahedeen, according whitnesses most of them are very young between 20 and 25 years old but they also don't understand Hindi, they seem to come from Afganisthan and therefore it is strnage that they claim themselves from Decan.

Some people say that they came by sea on air boats.

Malay Desai, a correspondent for the Mumbai Mirror says "Not all of the members of the planned operation have been gunned down yet, a lot of them are still roaming around the streets in Mumbai, firing at will and creating panic among the people of Mumbai."

In the name of God such a thing can happen but those who commit those crimes are not human anymore, they are nothing and for sure they are away of God.

We all share the same God even if we worship in several ways.

Nothing can justify such a madness.

I can't do much with a picture and a few words, I just have some thoughts for the people in Mumbai, and I hope that this madness will stop soon...
