PERSONA

A persona, in the word's everyday usage, is a social role or a character played by an actor. The word derives from the Latin for "mask" or "character", derived from the Etruscan word "phersu", with the same meaning.

A mask is a piece of material or kit worn on the face. Its analogue in psychology is the persona, one's self-made outward representation or role. They are usually, but not always, worn on the face, although they may also be positioned for effect elsewhere in relation to the wearer's own head.

Un poco, pero llena de cosas y de actividades esta semana. Así que no me verán demasiado por aquí. Este sábado estreno una obra de teatro y estamos a full!!!

A little, but plenty of activities this week. You won't be seeing me much here, commenting or faving. This coming saturday the play I've been rehearsing will open... we are so nervous!
But I promise to come back, as usual...Kisses, my friends...

Y sin embargo, quien sabe por qué, lo acarició. Rozó con el dedo índice aquella cosa inerte y al llegar a la manito, súbitamente la manito se cerró y le apretó el dedo con alma y vida. Entonces el medico pidió que le hirvieran agua y se arremango la camisa."

No hubo estreno. Algo muy triste sucedió a una de las actrices y todavía no tenemos muchas noticias, pero la función hubo de suspenderse...Ya veremos cómo seguimos....

There was no opening night. Something sad happened to one of the actresses. We don't know much yet, but we had to postpone the show. We'll see what happens...

...because a busy week that was supposed to end in a joyous event ended in a terrible way...
I'm sad because everytime death knocks the door leaves me empty inside...

This past saturday (yesterday) the play I was rehearsing since last year was supposed to open. But a few hours before the opening night one of the actresses got the most aweful of news...her parents had died... She had to leave for the small town they lived and get the news.
Today she wrote the most sweet and tender message to all of us. Her strengh in such moment comes from above, she is a believer, and I admire her so much....
I feel so moved, and scared....
Her words are so inspiring:
"VIVAN CADA INSTANTE" , "DEJENSE QUERER Y AYUDAR", Y DISFRUTEN!!!!!!!!
"LIVE EACH MOMENT", "LET OTHERS LOVE YOU AND BRING HELP" "ENJOY!!!!!"

I just want to tell you that I enjoy your work so much and that I come here daily for inspiration....

Para el alma...

Nieve en Areco!!!

Por primera vez desde 1918 nevó en la ciudad y en la provincia de Buenos Aires.

Nosotros habíamos ido a Areco para festejar el día de la independencia con empanadas, jineteada y destrezas criollas, pero debido a la nieve solo comimos y cantamos. La pasamos muy bien!

La niña del video es mi hija. Ella y Nico nunca habían visto nieve antes...Una hermosura.

For the first time since 1918 it snowed in the city of Bs As and the state. We had gone to a place called San Antonio de Areco to celebrate our Independence Day with empanadas, horse games shows, etc. Due to the snow we just had food and singing....We had a great time!

The girl in the "movie" is my daughter. She and Nico had never seen snow before. It was so beautiful...

La Vigilia

After the toughest of the weeks, I'm leaving for the final rehearsal now...

Hopefully we will open the show tomorrow...

After the sad events I shared with you, I hope we get the strengh to shine through the sadness and shadows and make what we are supposed to do....a great play!

I pray for this....

Javier Casalla - Tango

# In this first solo album, Javier Casalla pays homage to the role of the violin in Argentine tango and to the sound of a whole era. Although his musical scope ranges from rock and folk to jazz and classical music, tango became his passion. "It was inside of me and always came to me easily in all styles, traditional or modern" he says.

# Amongst his violins, the most important one for this disc is without question his violin corneta, the Stroh violin, a unique-sounding instrument nearly forgotten before Casalla rediscovered it for the genre and uses it to "sing" the melodies.

# The album is produced by Surco label founder and multiple Latin Grammy Award-winner Gustavo Santaolalla who is enjoying continuously growing international success as producer and/or bandmember of acts such as Juanes, Molotov and Bajofondo Tangoclub as well as as soundtrack composer (Motorcycle Diaires, 21 Grams amongst others).

# Casalla's recent tango projects include names such as Cristóbal Repetto and Cafe de los Maestros. He is part of Latin Grammy-winning act Bajofondo Tangoclub and played on Mercedes Sosa's latest folk album Corazón Libre.

# He is also featured on numerous soundtracks: The Motorcycle Diares, Carlos Saura's Tango, 21 Grams, Amores Perros, and others.

# The album features vocal guest appearances by Cristóbal Repetto (recently named "the new and addictive voice for Argentinian tango" by the BBC Music Magazine) and Daniel Melingo, the bohemian star of new tango.
