We all face great sadness in our life’s where we believe ones bereavement is greater than another’s. Much like the death of a child is greater than the death of a gran whose lived a long and happy life.

Here in Hawkhead cemetery we have many disasters and memorials to fallen solders in great wars. People trapped in cinema fires robbing families of their loved ones. These heartaches and many more fill this hillside graveyard and non more sorrowing than the loss of a child at birth denied a chance to be a hero or a by stander enjoying the wonders of life.

This circular Royal Alexander Maternity Unit Remembrance of Garden is dedicated to children who died at birth. I say these words of saddens as I like my family lost a daughter / wee sister at birth. To whom whose memory will never be forgotten.
