A new baby : Pentax K-m

I'm using mostely the Pentax k-20d, and have a lot of fun with it.

Mostely the results of this camera are very sastifying and with a high quality level

If the new Pentax K-m has the same qualities as his big brother, I would certainly recommend him for SRL - starters.

Anyway I will test (and have) him in January... an evalution coming up soon.

Habitué à travailler souvent avec le Pentax K-20d, dont les resultats sont de haut de gamme et d'utilisation simple, voir convivial, j'ai pu découvrir son petit frère le Pentax K-m

Si sa qualité est à la hauteur de son grand frère, ce sera un APN à recommander pour le débutant dans le monde du réflex.

Fin de l'année je pourrais vous montrer des photos et faire une évaluation de terrain.

yeah...i am really loking forward to your review. if pentax keeps the k30d (or whatever it's going to be called) the same size as the k20/10d (i wouldn't mind, if they would even make it a bit bigger), the k-m would make a perfect secondary cam to always carry with you as it almost fits in your pocket (think of it with a da70 or da40 pancake attached...yummie!).

i am definitely curious about whatever they're up to. i hope they don't lose sight of the most necessary flaw that's to be fixed: the AF is still years beyond nikon and canon. and a proper liveview wouldn't bee too bad for macros and tripod-stuff...well, and if they get rid of the mirror along the way and neatly succeed: so be it! :)

the problem is only concerning AF-C (and AF in general when trying to focus in low-light situations) and not that annoying as it may seem. but sometimes i shoot concerts and when the musicans keep constantly moving, the AF just isn't fast enough to follow them. even my old EOS350d could handle these situations better...pentax hasn't updated the AF-system since the *istD and i just think they should do so with their next "top-model" to not lose connection with nikon and canon. don't know if simply adding a focus-laser/lamp wouldn't help either...

apart from that i am also more than satisfied with my k10d (with all those pretty new lenses even more than at the time i bought it) and could skip even a k30d if it does only include the new made up so-called-must-haves like hispeed-video-mode, 10 frames/sec, noiseless ISO12800 (well...i said "could" not "will", didn't i,hehe).

thanks a lot for that answer, cause I didn't detect any problem with my AF-C on my k20, for concerts (so far I shoot a few), I use the ' limited edition ' witn high speed shot, and the AFC. Until now it was a great experience.
