The first time I did it was 6 years ago when my wife passed away and I wanted to find a way to meet new friends in this city of Brockville. We came from Ottawa, but I had moved into a house nearby that would not require using any stairs. My wife had difficulty for some years, and I moved us into a house that allowed more relaxation for her. The cancer in her body proved to be too much, and after a month in Hospital here in Brockville, she was gone from me.
The Mall was the idea of a man I met here in Brockville, who suggested it as my solution to finding new friends. Larry thought that creating Caricatures of people was a sure-fire way of breaking the ice with new folks, and making myself known in a warm way!

He was right! Having folks sit in front of you in a four minute pose and telling you what they thought about getting this cartoon done, was one of the best ways I have ever experienced in making new friends! Just make certain you don't draw them in a negative way!
Their face must not have any wrinkles, ot signs of age, or scars, etc. If their hair is messy, give them a good perm and always put them on the board as something from Hollywood! Their face is one of their most important assets. Don't screw it up!! ha! I learned quickly that the hardest faces to do were the prettiest ones! You always had room for error with the UGLY ones!! ha!
This year I will have Peggy with me! I met her at the Mall a few years back, and she has been my loving companion ever since! So, I must say that I have to recommend doing Caricatures at the Mall if you are lonely this Xmas and wish to meet someone! It has proved to be the answer for me, and I highly recommend it! So, get out that pad and pen, and start offering your talents to the busy shoppers! I hope you're as successful as I have been! There might be a Peggy out there for you also!!
