The end of IPERNITY may be near - I fear the time has come for us to search for a new site to host our photos. www.ipernity.com/blog/team/4642052 Anyone have any ideas? Should we dust off our old FLICKR accounts?

  • A Record Month!

    - 30 Nov 2016 - 3 comments
November 2016 will go down in the record books as my top month of uploads! A whopping 407 pictures have been taken and uploaded to my photo stream over the course of this month. This handily beats my prior record month of November 2012, when 345 pictures were uploaded. That record stood for four years! There is no doubt that this month's record number of photos is owed to the beautiful old power line construction in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Interesting poles abound there, and I would hig…

Descriptions will be coming tomorrow! I will be uploading some rather large batches of pictures I took in New Mexico before I leave for Pittsburgh next week. Due to the sheer amount of photos, it may take me a little while to add descriptions to them all.

  • Major Milestone

    - 21 Oct 2016
We have now reached the 2,000 photo milestone in the Powerline Graveyard group. This means that together, we have preserved over 2,000 pictures of poles that no longer exist. This is quite a major accomplishment! I extend thanks to all who have helped in this massive endeavor, and here's to 2,000 more!

  • Interesting Substation in Harrisburg, PA

    - 25 Aug 2016 - 6 comments
Here's a Google Street View link to an old substation that I have driven by numerous times over the years: goo.gl/PaMTt6 This substation features a sizeable indoor portion, as well as some interesting outdoor features. There also look to be some potentially interesting 69kV multipart pin insulators, some with four skirts: goo.gl/Nv2joE Think I should stop by this sub with my camera on my next drive?
