The big push...

So, my account on Flickr expires this week, and I have decided that I will not renew. There are a few reasons for this, some technical, some personal, and some...just because. I know it's been hashed over time and time again by other people, so I am just going to leave it at that.

That said, I have just spent the last day and a half backing up all of my photos that were posted over there, some 1400 of them. It has taken a while and I am sure they are not happy to see the bandwidth hits, but if I don't get them out now, I will have to pay to be able to access over 1200 photos that will be locked away from me come Friday...which I don't agree with at all.

Now that I've finally got them backed up, I have also gone and migrated, what I consider to be the better of my photos, to my little space here. I have just about maxed my monthly upload limit in a matter of a few hours, but that's fine for now, as I will still be able to post a few from now until the end of the month. I didn't want to bombard my account with with an overload of photos, as I feel that a lot of gems might get overlooked, but I really had no choice. If I didn't do this, I would have had to hand-tag and title the photos all over again, which is a bit tedious. This way, I was still able to maintain the information that was already on the photos over on Flickr.

I apologize in advance to anyone this will annoy, though I promise that it won't happen again.

Now, time to go work on rebuilding my sets...
