reaching for freedom

Tuesday February 5, 2008 at 01:25PM

Seven months ago I subscribed to Ipernity. I've been using flickr's online community for a couple of years but there was evidence that some form of censureship was on it's way. I don't like that so I looked around for alternatives and was pointed to Ipernity. However, some good friends stayed back on flickr and it turned out that there was a good solution to the possible censorship problem so I stayed there and almost forgot about Ipernity.

But now Microsoft announces it's intention to buy Yahoo! and flickr will be in the package. As I strongly dislike Micorsoft's strong arm business policy, I'm starting to pack my things in preparation for the buyout. I have a flickr pro account payed for another eight months but won't be paying any more after Microsoft gets in charge.

So, this post marks the start of my exeprience with Ipernity. I'll try to use this space to post my findings and experience.

Hey, welcome to Ipernity, and congratulations on a great choice! :)

You've already got some really good photos up here, and I'm looking forward to seeing more!

I especially like the one you embedded in this post. It kind of reminds me a wee bit about one of my photos. Well, ok, their nothing alike at all, but still, it got me thinking of it.. :)

And thanks for using Creative Commons, that's awesome!
