Leaving ZA

Saturday May 16, 2009 at 11:28AM

I'm thinking of leaving this country... Tired of all this $#!%!

Thinking of going to NZ.

What you guys think? Where would you go if you were me?

UPDATE:

This is a crazy country.. but it's my country, my home, and I love it. I was a bit confused for awhile... but I'm staying!

Um... yeah well. I don't have to tell you what's up do I?

That's an option I guess.. never really considered it - cold! and crowded?

The Prince of Darkness (aka Eskom) up to the old tricks again I take it....
My aunt told me they didn't have water for like 12 hours or something :(
Maaan - come here!!! You'll love it! It is cold, yes, but there's other nice things...!
Are you guys thinking of emigrating? Or just for working a while?

Chillimuncher replies:
Eskom is the least of our worries. You obviously don't follow your home country.. =0) Crime has reached a point that I can't ignore any further. The currency is not looking good. The government doesn't give a $hit about anything...

Immigration. Like I said, I'm tired of all this .... So I'd never want to come back.

Shucks man :(
Did you guys get burgled or something? Are your folks ok??? And your boet?? You're making me worry! :(
I've been following things on News24...but most things are biased. I did ask my dad how things were and he said it wasn't as bad as I thought it was...but then again they're in King - my Aunt n Uncle in Joburg are a bit worse off (no water/lights/etc)

Hahaha.. you're funny. We're fine, except for the fact that we live in this country. Like I said, (water and )lights are small worries. The education system is also Fukd, and the institutions of higher learning are plauged by toytoying idiots... Sometimes aimed at the 'white' people. I've just heard one to many stories of hi-jacking, rape, etc...

Still early days Sherry - but i'm researching the whole story, moving in that direction.

I suppose we all have our problems. The main problem here is our country is being led by mostly incompetent and corrupt officials - thus ultimately I have this horrible picture of everything spiralling out of control (for the worst case senario, look at Zimbabwe...). Hopefully I'm wrong.

Thanx for da luuuv.. =0)

Pffffffffff....

Can't comment on New Zealand; my Dad was there a few months ago on holiday and loved it... said it was like the UK several decades ago (which is a good thing).

My part of the world used to be safe as houses... no longer. That and many other positive qualities are being eroded... don't get me started on the "leaders" of this planets countries...

NZ would be awesome...but for me...if I couldn't live in NYC, it would be Santorini:))

Chillimuncher replies:
Wow... Santorini looks so beautiful!! I may just come to terms with SA.. I'm starting to realize that in the end it's about your focus and perspective. Hopefully I can maintain the correct angle on this country.
