I am not going to compare ipernity to new flickr, as I feel that has been rendered useless for photography, it is just good enough for posting snaps. Compared to old flickr, there is a lot to like here.

The site is and feels smaller, that is not a bad thing, as it feels more like a community, as though you could get to know a lot of people on here. I am sure I am not alone among flickr refugees to have been made to feel most welcome. Thank you all for messages, comments, visits and invitations.

The layout is sober, and doesn't overpower the pictures. After a few day, I know my way around much better than I do on new flickr.

There are features that didn't exist on flickr, like the ability to write articles, which I love. I don't know how much use I will make of it, but it's nice to have the choice. Also very handy is the possibility to reply directly to a comment made on a photo.

My favourite though is my main page, as I have the possibility of highlighting one album (flickr set) rather than another.

I still have a lot to learn, but that's great too. Now that I have been forced out, I realise things had got a bit stale over on flickr.

Any negatives I hear you ask? Well, I must confess to not being crazy about the name, but that's probably because I don't get it...

All in all, I think I am going to be happy here, and look forward to discovering some great pictures and photographers.
