at the start of the migration from f...r to ipernity I copied some of my (imho) best shots.
Somehow they are not or rather sparely visited...

So I like to use the blog to introduce you to a frog that is either crazy or really cool cause he knows that he does not fit into the throat of the python...

And I have to admit that I am a bit proud of this shot,
it was on #2 on explore on that other internet site (1800+ views and 100+ faves)

but

I just came home and found a letter from a German photo magazine that told me that this frog was also #2 in a competition

Im Dezember 1999 hatte ich einen sehr schweren Autounfall, der mein Leben einschneidend verändert hat. Gesundheitlich bin ich wieder auf der Höhe, ich möchte diesen Platz hier nutzen, um DICH etwas zu fragen:

Hast DU eigentlich einen Organspenderausweis ?

Viele Leute mit denen ich mich darüber unterhalten habe, zuckten eigentlich nur mit den Schultern und sagten

"Nö, wieso ?"

oder kamen mit diesen völlig blödsinnigen Horrorgeschichten über kriminelle Organentnahmen (als ob 'die' auf den Ausweis achten...)

In den bangen Stunden nach dem Crash hat mir ein Gedanke schwer zu schaffen gemacht:

• du hast innere Verletzungen,
• vielleicht sogar eine Nierenquetschung und
• du bist dringend auf eine Organspende angewiesen...

und keiner spendet!

Keine Sau spendet... warum eigentlich nicht... WARUM?

Ja, und dann fragst du dich :

Warum hast DU eigentlich keinen Organspenderausweis?

In december of 1999 i had a heavy car crash that had an important impact for my life. Regarding my own health: I am doing pretty fine now but I would like to take the chance to ask YOU a simple question:

Do YOU have a declaration of consent for an organ donor?

(Dunno if I translate this correct, the German word "Organspenderausweis" is a document
in which the owner declares that she/he is willing to donate his organs after his death.)

I talked about this with a lot of different people, many of them shrugged and returned

"Duh, actually NO, why should I ?!

or told me that famous urban legend about criminals taking your kidney while you are knocked out - as if these guys would take care of a document with your consent to donate!!

Well, in the dark hours after that crash I was tortured by some sick fears:

• you have injuries of your organs,
• maybe a kidney got smashed
• and you are depending on an organic donation...

but nobody is going to donate!

NOBODY, not a single soul is going to donate... well, why not... WHY?

Yep, in such a moment you start to ask yourself:

Why don't YOU have a declaration of consent for an organ donor?
