Hello to the exploring, angry flickrites - especially from Brisbane

Sunday June 17, 2007 at 10:05AM

I see that at least two other Brisbane flickrites are checking out Ipernity.

My thoughts - pretty good so far, the fact that Ipernity has a bulk upload program was VITAL for me.

What about geotags? I geotag using Google Earth/Picasa, but the geotags do not seem to be imported directly into Ipernity.

I'd also love to see an email address that I can use to post to Ipernity that also posts directly to my blogs (I won't be using this blog as my main one). Without that, I can't moblog with Ipernity, so I would have to stay with a flickr account for that. Mind you, if I have to do that, it will be a free account as soon as my current pro account runs out.

Tuxcomputers wants groups as well, I notice. Anyone else? What features do you want to see here on Ipernity to convince you to do the big job of getting all your photos here instead of flickr?

Groups, yes.

And how the heck do I track comments on pictures? (Or should I just wear my glasses?

On your home page there is a point "Activity".. That's where you can track the comments on your pictures!

The keywords/tags and "description" on the photos on my PC aren't imported with the photo as they are on Flickr, which makes it a lot more cumbersome for me, and as well as Groups that tops my list of impediments for the "big job".

I've tried with the jUploadr and individually from the webpage - any tips anyone?

@Stiletto, there is a 'default tags' option in the jUploadr. I guess you could use that to add tags each time you upload. It's in Edit/Preferences and then in the Privacy and Tags tab.

I have not tried that myself though.

Yeah, I'm thinking all these things will come. But the place is still better than others out there. I like the people who are here, they bhave spirit, chutzpah. They don't stand for any nonsense. And that's such a good start.
