~ A Message ~

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men a nd small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

~ 86,400 ~ {Francais}

~ 86,400 ~ {English}

Imagine that every morning a bank opens an account for you and deposits 86,400 $ on it.

But … there are 2 rules to follow:

1st rule : every $ that you didn’t spend during the day will be removed from the account that night.  You cannot cheat, you cannot wire this money to another account, you can only spend it all throughout the day … but every morning the bank will deposit yet again 86,400$ for the day.

2nd rule : the bank can stop this game without warning you, at anytime.  The bank can say that the game is over that they will close down the account and no more $ will be received.

What would you do ?

You would spend every $ to please yourself and to offer many gifts to those you love.

You would ensure to use every last $ to provide happiness in your life and those around you, right ?

This magical bank exists and we have it all …. It’s << time>>.

Every morning, when we wake, we are credited with 86400 seconds of life for the day and when we sleep at night, we cannot get them back.

What was not used during the day is lost forever, yesterday has gone by.

Every morning this magic starts over.  We play with this special rule, the bank can close our account at any time, without notice, and at any time, life can stop.

So what do you do with your 86,400 seconds you get every day ?

Life is short, even for those who think that life is too long … so take advantage of life.

~ Water or Wine? ~

(please note ... this is ONLY a joke.  I'm not promoting anyone to drink alcohol ... )

Water vs Wine

As Ben Franklin said: "In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria".

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces.  In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of shit.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service.

~ Funny ~

A man kills a deer and takes it home to cook for dinner.

Both he and his wife decide that they won't tell the kids what kind of meat it is,  but will give them a clue and let them guess.

The kids were eager to know what  the meat was on their plates, so they begged their dad for the clue.

Well, he said,  'It's what mommy calls me sometimes'.

The little girl screams to her brother 'Don't eat it, it's an a**hole.'

~ Please watch this, this could save your life ~

www.ipernity.com/doc/brigitte/898168

You may know, but worth reviewing. . . . please read below and watch video.

Watch this video and learn what not to use to put out a grease fire.

This is a great video. Everyone should watch it and take heed. When I was stationed in Charleston Navy base at the Fire Fighting  Training school we would demonstrate this with a deep fat fryer set on the fire field. An instructor would don a fire suit  and using an 8 oz cup at the end of a 10 foot pole toss water onto the grease fire. The results got the attention of the students. The water, being heavier than the oil, sinks to the bottom where it instantly becomes superheated. The explosive force of the steam blows the burning oil up and out. On the open field, it became a thirty foot high fireball that resembles a nuclear blast. Inside the confines of a kitchen, the fire ball hits the ceiling and fills the entire room. Also do not throw  sugar or flour on a grease fire. One cup creates the explosive force of two sticks of dynamite.

~ Should children witness childbirth ??? ~

Due to a power outage, only one paramedic responded to the call.

The house was very dark so the paramedic asked Kathleen, a 3-yr old girl to hold a flashlight high over her mommy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby.

Very diligently, Kathleen did as she was asked.

Heidi pushed and pushed and after a little while Connor was born.

The paramedic lifted him by his little feet and spanked him on his bottom.

Connor began to cry.

The paramedic then thanked Kathleen for her help and asked the wide-eyed 3-yr old what she thought about what she had just witnessed.

Kathleen quickly responded, "He shouldn't have crawled in there in the first place ... smack his little ass again!"
