HOW TO IMPROVE IPERNITY ?? Crazy diamonds are needed

The activity pages need to be more than one page length. If I am away for a few days. then the comments, votes etc are more than is displayed....

The latest docs from contacts need to show just the latest photo.....

I would second this strongly. Ipernity is almost perfect ;-') now as a doc sharing site, but the ability to follow comments could be improved.

Hi Bigoode, I've joined the group. What I mean is really what has been said by others. On sites like f., you can follow all comments made on all photos that you commented on yourself. That, and a bit of handy structuring of the threads, would be it. I know it's not as easy to implement in software as it sounds. But I'm prepared to wait.

I am prepared to help in as much as my time will allow, if you allow me to say ;-)
But you can't mean actual help in developping the software. I don't think they'd let outsiders do that.
If it's just about more ideas, no problem. I'll think about something.

Agreed about the activity page. If I may have a wish list : a spot for personal profile and info for the authors on individual homepages, slideshows for groups and indexing .

I never liked the Reply thing here which allows you to follow only one branch in a discussion thread. When I want to read about new stuff, I want activity to display everything that comes past me (with the option to turn off following the discussion).

For the grand vision, what I'd find cool would be automated networking either based on the frequency of visits from and to other contacts and some kind of neighborhood as on last.fm.

Great idea!

3. more comprehensive activity report including participated threads
4. stronger interface for user customizations
5. more exposure and marketing for ipernity
6. invite institutional participation e.g. galleries, collections, art groups
7. e-magazine to attract new subscriptions
8. a stronger corporate id to project next stage?

a) it would be great if we could control the number of latest posts/docs from our network - with the option to limit to 1or 2 pics per member if we prefer and it should list the latest from all network members

b) the abiiity for others to link our pix to other sites should be optional at the photographer's discretion, not a default as at present

+1 pour les smileys, cela donnerait un peu plus d'épaisseurs à nos délires...
Et puis aussi sur la page d'accueil un endroit ou nous pourrions choisir et mettre une dizaine de nos contacts préférés afin de pouvoir retrouver rapidement les gens que nous suivons.. (c'est assez clair?).

Voir aussi pour develloper tous les add-ons que l'on peut trouver sur Fl***, du style pouvoir regarder la photo en grand sur fond noir.

Une dernière chose, pour l'explore: affiner un peu l'algorithme qui déclenche le passage afin que les photos avec chats entre 2 personnes ne passe pas toujours en premier.
Perso je m'en fou je connais les hurluberlu(e)s qui le font souvent et je me marre bien à relire leur délire, mais je pense que le reste de la communauté non française voudrait bien avoir un peu de place aussi....

Tu veux dire "des autre groupes linguistiques"? Bien sûr. Si tu es à www.ipernity.com/explore, et tu changes à English, tu auras l'Explore des anglophones, si tu changes à español tu verras les photos intéressantes des espagnols, si tu changes à Esperanto, tu auras les photos des espérantophones, etc. Hélas on ne voit là que 10 photos. Il y a quelques semaines il y avait beaucoup plus.

As someone said above, it would be nice to have an official group, not only for ideas but also for general questions. But my main wish is to see the latest docs / activity improved.

Except from that I'm a very happy girl here. Ipernity team have done a lot to give us new features, and I'm sure they improve any bugs and stuff along the way. We got a very versatile site, with blogs, pictures, music etc, so we already got all the toys we need to have fun.

The features can always improve but in the end its the members activity who make the site interesting :)

on other point would be that some "non pro accounts" who waited for groups
who asked for more and more and asked again
do what they said and became pro and help the team to develop the site !

Of course, those who want to speak English can do so, but to demand to use English only is a discrimination towards those who might have good ideas too, but cannot express themselves in English. And such a demand in a group that states "respect everyone's culture" is just double Dutch to me.

Si l'on veut parler anglais, je ne vois pas de problème. Mais exiger qu'on parle l'anglais est une discrimination à tous qui pourraient avoir des bonnes idées, mais ne peuvent pas s'exprimer en anglais, de plus dans un groupe qui met "respect everyone's culture" comme première règle.

I would very much like a way to reorder the appearance of the different parts of the personal home page, the way it appears to others and myself: blog, photos, albums...
It would be nice if one could put the 'new photos' part above the blog, and maybe the 'new albums' part on top of it all. That kind of thing.
What I'd like even better is if the 'my documents/photos/' view could be customized to look something like the flickr 'medium size' page view, at least on the first page. I am missing that a bit.

All in all, I think Team Ipernity are doing a great job and a labour of love with software development here as well. Cheers folks! And shine on ;-)

I love this site and all the diversity. I love how so many can get along, from so many countries as a team. also, I never see drama and I like that. one thing I would suggest is, a better system for our blogs (especially when using html). sadly, I have no answers. another thing,... look at these two images, notice how the one displays much better:

perhaps a black background could be by choice? also, I like the system they use there as far as the image seems higher on the page, and such. this is my favorite site, though. I will tell you why,... although I have many friends on other sites, and people are so kind, here, you get more personal, more friendly. I am not sure if that makes sense, but to me, ipernity is more like a family. :) and I never see anyone disrespecting anyone else. :)

and I have tried with 3 different credit cards to become pro,... each time pay pal charged me for refreshing the page (12 dollars), because it would not turn the page. so, sadly, I am no pro. :( and I want it so badly.
