All those site names rolled off the tongue, flickr friends and fotologgers and ipernitians(?), and I must say I really liked the name 'Vimians' because it made me feel like someone out of Star Trek. But I'd like to think that site-centred names are a thing of the past. I'm seeing a cross-site community as much more of a real community than anything that one company's marketing department could come up with.
So what are we? We are 'friends-who-know-each-other-through-different-photo-websites'. There must be a word for that, a better word than 'netbuddies'?
Whoever comes up with the best name I'll give them 10% of whatever commission I get when I sell it to Yahoo.

PhotoPicnic
It's like photocamp but smaller and more fun. It's also kinda nice? So we are photopicnicers. And we can tell people "I'm going on a picnic. To Paris." (or anywhere they make good coffee…).
Most importantly anyone can come along to a picnic, you don't have to be a Freak or a Poker… oh, how could anyone like those names?!

Out of those suggestions the one that grabs me personally is VeeBogs (what on earth does that mean?) but I'll add your favourite 'click-cliques' to the shortlist to see if anyone picks up on it.

Thank you everyone who added a suggestion to the mix. So many good ideas came up and without them all we wouldn't have arrived at Nuanc's great find – she spotted it in amongst all the letters of photogatheringpixelpokingcosmopolitanfreakyfrolictropicnomadicpicnic.
picnomadic has a slightly different edge that should appeal to the style gurus who wanted an unobvious word, yet it also includes 'pic' for people who wanted to say what we're about. And as well as the idea of 'nomads' we have a word that sounds like we're on a bit of a 'picnic'. I love it!
