Title Change

Hey, everyone and anybody and the few who look at my photos!

While I was getting ready for the big nap, and thinking about life, truth and just sheer misery, I changed the title of this photo from 'Ferris Wheel'

Wheel Deal
Wheel Deal

to 'Wheel Deal'.

Talented eh?

Do comment if you don't want to.

I Just Don't Get It

Can anyone tell me how a member can be closely connected to 300 of his or her contacts?

For example, I pulled up an ipernity member who had 500 contacts.

I then looked randomly at 5 of his photos and read many of the comments to each of the photos I looked at.

Not once was there a thank you, a smily face (I’m not to fond of those anyway) or even a f*** you or ANYTHING!

Out of curiosity, I then went ahead and randomly chose 2 more ipernity members, (not on my contact list)

And,

No different. No response from the person receiving wonderful praises.

I just don’t understand it or to use a USA idiomatic phrase … I just don’t get it!

Personally, I’ve limited myself to 20 contacts on my ipernity network.

On flickr, I have close to 50 contacts and for me that is way too much. I have a contact there whose work I admire very VERY much and I’ve written her so that she knows how much I appreciate her work. She is an artist.

Not once has she commented to me or to anyone else of the praises people have HEAVED upon her.

Oh, okay, she might be busy with real life … but why the heck does she accept anyone as a contact?

So … as much as I hate it, I will be taking her off my list among others.

As I write this, maybe the reason members have so many contacts is to raise their view numbers up. Could that be?

Nah … hmmm ….

Right now, keeping my contact list at a low number helps me appreciate the work of my contacts.

And, I think they like that.

I know I do.

The Next Best Thing

I've been traveling back and forth from Europe with a 17", 12 pound computer, Nikon/Minolta cameras and lenses for many years.

It's been a pure pain to carry so much and especially, when I have had to go to through various check points at airports.

Sometime, I've wondered if it's been all worthwhile.

A few months ago, I was to take a very important trip to see someone special.

During my preparations, my LAPTOP was making these funny sounds and, as I said in my previous post, the computer totally died.

I lost a lot of work that I had not backup'd, and to YOU!

Yes! YOU!

BACKUP YOUR COMPUTER!

I am an adult, and why should I follow my own advice.

But, YOU SHOULD!

Anyway, while I was in the middle of repairing my computer, my son and daughter-in-law gave me a hackless, unwormed, free from updating countless security patches, APPLE.

Yes! My first APPLE.

Well, needless to say ... I didn't go on my trip to see that special someone, and that was sad.

But, while I lost one opportunity another fell on my lap[top].

Sorry ... I couldn't resist.

Don't be Afraid! (¡No tenga miedo!)

About 2 months ago, my pc hard disk broke, went kaput and in computer terms CRASHED!

I was without a computer and not able to upload photos.

Technicians say that you MUST have the hard drive professionally installed. That’s what they said when I had a pc.

I’ve been a pc user since the middle 1980’s and I’ve installed and repaired almost every major part.

So, I took the plunge and bought a new hard drive (doubling my storage capacity), increased the memory and installed the operating system for my LAPTOP.

And you know WHAT?!

My laptop works better than ever before.

Believe me, I'm no rocket scientist, but

IF I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU!!
