I don't know if there is already a public open ipernity chatroom, but i would like to open one in relation to this new group, (ipernity user help central) i just started (and more). Thinking about chatting with friends and discussing about problems, photography, videos, nice things, whatever... what do you think?

I guess some of you are as geeky as i am and have skype open anyway, maybe let's try this.

Does anyone know a good and perhaps even free PC Video Converter? (AVI to MPEG or MOV,...)

Let's say you have a 300MB AVI from your digicam, what now? How can you put it here or any other online video-site??

I made a blogpost some days ago and want to share this with you. It's a list of filesharing tools and online-services with which you can upload and share big files (even over 100MB). This is pretty useful if you do not want (or cannot) send big files via email. Some of them don't even need a registration, so they work "anonymous".

Without registration:

• senduit (100MB/file, anonymous, timed delete, simple)
• drop.io (100MB/file, storage-folder, anonymous, password protection, timed delete, several files in one place)
• file.io (100MB/file, 200MB storage, like drop.io)
• Mediafire (100MB/file, anonymous)
• box.net lite (10MB/file, need email adress)
• Megaupload (500mb/file)

With registration:

• box.net (10MB/file, 1GIG storage space, filemanagement)
• Mediafire (100MB/file, unlimited storage space, filemanagement)
• divshare (200MB/file, 5Gb storage)

Tools (need installation)

• Pando, Dropsend, Skype

more: ipernity (of course), eatlime, pownce, dropboks, miHD, ...

mail2mail services are not listed (those where you need to enter the senders and recipients email adresses)

I am receiving a lot of mails lately saying people quit my groups, or the ones i moderate and administrate. I always take things too personally (btw is it personal or personally?) and i was asking

"why do they quit my groups? Disinterest, mad at me?"

I hope it's some kind of cleaning up and organizing, throwing out groups that are not in the focus. I  think i will do so as well. I have a lot of groups i never visit because of a lack of time and because my group-page is so long. Maybe there is a lack of usability or group-managent here, i don't know but I could never  take a look at ALL those groups daily or weekly although i am interested in all of them. I am already having problems following everything my friends and contacts post here.

So in advance, to all those who will receive a "Sascha has quit your group"-mail, DO NOT take it personal(ly). I might join again later...
