finally... yes... the API itself did not take a long time (a month or so), but the underneath adjustments needed to have a rock solid API did take us a much longer time than expected.
We hope to have new cool uploading software compliant with the API (picasa,iPhoto,Flock,...), and soon some great social tools on your mobile phone for instance... The API-dev group is a good place to discuss about the future of the API.
